Indy Classic Day Two Notable setters/defensive specialists

The team knocked off the Ignite 16 Elite squad, 2-1 (17-25, 25-19, 15-10) in the title game to finish the weekend with a perfect 6-0 mark. This marked the first tournament win of the season for the squad that features two returning starting setters in Bishop Brossart's [player_tooltip player_id='484451' first='Aubrey' last='Rebholz'] and Holy Cross' [player_tooltip player_id='484458' first='Lucy' last='Lenihan'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 17-4 team brought home the other gold winning the 17/18 Club Division. She is a consistent passer from all six spots on the court and packs a solid jump serve. She makes up for her size with athleticism. She can run the pipe play in stride using a fluid swinging motion. Sturgeon is a consistent passer squaring her arms up to balls well. She makes save after save under control. She's enthusiastic on the court. In the semifinals, she got better tracking down tips to the middle as the game progressed. Kohrs is a six-rotation versatile player. She played setter on NewCath's junior varsity team last year, but is playing defensive specialist and opposite hitter for the 15-3 Tide club team. She moves quickly to track down balls and make crisp passes. She hits balls around blockers and gives full effort every play. Kohrs needs some work on her hitting form, but she mixes in tips well to keep defenders guessing. Earls sets on one play that takes a big swing on the next play when the team needs them. She has a good push shot to the corners and makes good in-air adjustments.
