Kohrs (pictured) has turned into a sound all-around six-rotation player for the Thoroughbreds. She is a contributor in every statistical category. Kohrs makes a lot of things happen in the front and back rows. She makes sound first touches in the back row on hard and softly hit balls executing both overhead and bump passes. Kohrs can defend lines and retrieve deflected balls. Kohrs takes smart swings in the air and on roll shots trying to find holes in defenses. Kohrs transitions from defense to offense quickly. Kohrs runs the offense with efficiency trying to involve a number of hitters. Kohrs has developed a sound jump serve. Kohrs is also very coachable. Kohrs had 234 digs, 206 assists, 105 kills and 60 aces this past season, leading NewCath to a 19-17 record and spot in the 9th Region Tournament. The Thoroughbreds had not won that many games in a season since 2017.

Kohrs had a nice club season and has continued those good habits for the Thoroughbreds. Her confidence rises every game. Kohrs is getting to the point where the coaching staff can put her where needed to help the Thoroughbreds succeed. Kohrs tears into balls when the other setter is in the game and dishes out sound sets on other plays, running the offense efficiently. Kohrs has a good vertical trying to disrupt plays at the net. Kohrs said every player fits her role well, thus allowing the team to come together and accomplish things.

Kohrs has been productive at all six spots on the court during club season. She has good footwork to chase down balls and make good two to three-point passes. Kohrs can hit balls around blockers and mixes up her sets. Kohrs said she’s done work to improve her setting skills, vertical jump and foot speed in order to fill any role Coach Reckers needs.

Kohrs is a very coachable player that her club and high school coaches are looking forward to working with. Kohrs is a six-rotation versatile player. She played setter on NewCath’s junior varsity team last year, but is playing defensive specialist and opposite hitter for the 15-3 Tide club team. She moves quickly to track down balls and make crisp passes. She hits balls around blockers and gives full effort every play. Kohrs needs some work on her hitting form, but she mixes in tips well to keep defenders guessing. Adjustments here and there will make big differences for Kohrs.
