Rebholz made a glorious return after being out for nearly three weeks with an injury. Rebholz ran the Brossart offense as effectively as usual. She made great decisions, consistently finding the hot hitters as well as ones away from double blocks. Rebholz puts sets to the tops of her hitters’ vertical jumps so they can hit over and around blockers. Rebholz also had an effective game passing and sent some hard serves to the back row to keep NewCath out of rhythm. Rebholz said she was nervous about her return at first but positive energy from her teammates helped her contribute.

Rebholz has used her experience to turn into a warrior setting the ball for the Mustangs. Rebholz continues to make great decisions, involving a number of hitters. She sets hitters at the peak of their jumps to keep balls away from blockers. Rebholz also makes good first touches and sound serves. Her setovers are not as deceptive as the team would like, but they are headed in a good direction. Rebholz said she tries to stay aware of which opponents are on the other side of the net and where opponents hit balls then makes best decisions from that point.

Rebholz has quality character both on and off the court. Rebholz has continued to develop as a setter since earning varsity experience as an eighth grader. Rebholz does a variety of sets including the back set. She understands her hitters well and puts them in position to succeed. Her court awareness came a long way from her freshman year. Rebholz has also turned into a sound passer and server for Brossart. Rebholz had 890 assists, 234 digs and 44 aces for the Mustangs this past fall, helping them win another All “A” 10th Region crown and drive to the region championship game.

Brossart head coach Danielle French said a focus this season would be on knowing who to set and where to place balls and Rebholz has done a better job of that so far this season. The Mustangs have the size and experience to have a formidable offensive attack when the initial first contact and sets are good. Rebholz is also trying to help in other areas. She has 113 assists to go with 25 digs on the season.

Rebholz stepped into the setter role as an eighth grader when the senior had to leave the district championship as the result of an injury and took the position by the horns recording 332 kills and leading the Mustangs to the first 10th Region championship in school history. Does a great job executing plays and talking to the hitters to determine ball placement. Puts herself in great position on defense and hustles to balls. Finished with 564 kills as a freshman last year helping Bishop Brossart to a 21-13 record an All “A” 10th Region championship. Expects a similar role in addition to a defensive specialist for the club team NKYVC 15-3 Typhoon squad.
