Indy Cup Coming Up! 17/18 Premier White Preview, Others To Watch

These are five athletes from five different clubs that look to bring it in their own special way this weekend, with hopes of really capping their club seasons with a solid performance before going into the summer. Ask her to receive serve? No problem. How about attacking on in-system plays? Oh, that's easy. Floor defense? Read-and-react, check. Out-of-system? She minimizes errors and finds ways to score points, regardless of where the ball is set. She can hammer any angle no matter where the ball is set, can use brute force to go through or off of blocks and is a point scoring machine who can get on a roll in a hurry. I'd like to see a bit more all-around play from Della, as that will complete her evaluation for college readiness. Playing for Riverton Parke had me pause for a bit, considering her high school competition doesn't play at the level of club that she's currently enjoying. As this club season has continued, however, Annie is more than capable of holding her own and should be a nice addition as a six-ro outside, a three-ro DS or even a libero if need be.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["487350"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-68249b6707e4b"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">With a state championship already on the mantle, this long and lean middle has advanced blocking skills with offensive skills that are catching up in a hurry. I love the length on this kid---her ability to defend from pin to pin is second to none in relationship to the other available middles in this class. As for her attack touch, it's high enough to go over late blocks, while her arm swing is slowly increasing in speed as this spring is continuing. Her length makes her look far bigger than her 5'10" frame, and her athleticism makes her read-and-react blocking style own the net. I haven't seen much of her this club season, mostly because of her club schedule being opposite of mine. The information I DO have of her is simple---she's 5'10" with a wing span of a 6'2" kid, blocks well above her frame would allow, and hits sharp angles when set in-system. You just can't teach this level of fast-twitch athleticism, and Natalie has it in droves.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
