Lone Star Regionals 15 Bid Division Productive Outside Hitters

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Club teams from all over Texas were in Houston this past weekend, competing in one of the largest and most anticipated tournaments of the season, the Lone Star Regionals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over 650 teams got on the court between Saturday and Sunday at the George R Brown Convention Center, with clubs competing in 20 divisions, featuring players from the 11s to the 17s age groups.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Dig Texas followed closely the Gold Bracket matches of the 15 Bid Division, and we're now highlighting some of the most impressive players we got to watch. A heavy hitter, she was the team's go-to scorer and did a very good job of staying consistent and putting the ball down when her team needed it. Morrison repeatedly made a very strong offensive approach, making contact with the ball at a very high point. A solid all-around player, she brought a lot of stability to the team with her well-balanced and efficient game. Odinga displayed nice physical tools to score points, getting off the floor and swinging with power, but it was her decision-making that set her apart, as it allowed her to make the right calls and avoid offensive errors. A long and skilled player, she stood out as one of the most complete players in the division, making a difference for her team on both sides of the ball. Gibson was excellent offensively, making great use of her range to beat blockers up at the net and finding great shots while making very few errors. A left-footed pin hitter, she was excellent on both sides of the ball and made the most of her technical skills and superior volleyball IQ. Playing against taller blockers, Perez was impeccable with her shot selection, consistently finding ways to hit around them and send the ball into an open spot - she also scored at a very high rate in out-of-system plays and played on the right in one rotation.
