Our coverage of the latest Nebraska 2026 rankings update rolls on. We've covered stock-rising setters and pin hitters, but we still have several more names to visit. It's never too late for prep athletes to elevate their game, as this newest wave of surging 2026s demonstrates.

The libero position is often undervalued or underappreciated. However, we've been fortunate enough to cover defenders like Brummund who can influence matches in so many ways. The Omaha Skutt Catholic junior was a lethal server last fall and turned the tide in several clutch moments for the SkyHawks. Brummund has also climbed the ladder at [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] and is delivering dimes in the 17 Elite backcourt. These last several months have solidified Brummund's status as a 2026 stock riser.

Lierman has been a multi-position workhorse throughout her prep career. She is a true middle-opposite hybrid who has contributed to Waverly's long run of postseason appearances. This versatile athlete has also made significant progress in the [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] gym and has been a reliable scoring outlet for [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Black. The team's late run of tournament success included a runner-up finish at the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament and a Gold bracket appearance at the Show Me Qualifier. Lierman's stock will keep rising.

This Sutton star has done it again. We've documented the changes and roster transitions for South Central NE 17 Black, but Griess and her team piled on to a long history of Show Me Qualifier success. This dynamic libero anchored 17 Black's defense and guided her squad to another second-place finish in Kansas City. Griess has always been a stout defensive specialist, but her leadership skills have flourished in this year's 17s campaign. Those qualities will be needed at GJNC this summer.

Let's start a run of liberos. Uhrmacher has done a little of everything for Aurora High School, including a stint as a six-rotation outside hitter. Her defensive prowess takes precedence in the Nebraska Juniors gym, where Uhrmacher has become a game-changing backcourt player for 17 Black. She turns tough digs into transition opportunities and takes so much pressure off her fellow passers. We can't wait to see what this fall's swan song season has in store.

Now we're really piling onto the libero theme. Vallinch's exceptional performances with Premier Nebraska 17 Silver materialized right as the season started in January. She was a can't-miss defender at the Northern Lights Qualifier and helped 17 Silver capitalize on its unique system and lineup. Her role with Papio South has also expanded while the Titans have continued to rack up championships. It's the ideal recipe for a libero stock riser.

We have to look out for [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 17 Navy this postseason. This 2024 AAU champion has showcased a wealth of frontcourt talent, and Garcia-Alvarez has anchored the operation for a while. We've known about her hard-hitting style at the middle blocker spot, but Garcia-Alvarez has expanded her positional versatility in 2025. She takes several first-ball swings on the left side for [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] and has even increased her influence on the slide. We anticipate another memorable summer for this do-everything athlete.

We can't say enough about Club Legacy 17 Alpha's evolution throughout the 2025 season. The Show Me Qualifier gave us some of 17 Alpha's best moments, and Simpson took full advantage of the Kansas City spotlight. She has a knack for putting away out-of-system swings on the pin and has incorporated a wicked cut shot into her repertoire. Simpson joins many of her fellow Club Legacy athletes on the stock riser list--in this class and beyond.
