Oakland County’s Top 2027 Talents: Part 2

The county has consistently produced Division 1 college athletes as well as Miss Volleyball winners.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here's a look at what Oakland County is bringing to the table from the Class of 2027. This is the second part of three of OC's top 2027 talents, listed in alphabetical order.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442977' first='Demi' last='McCoy'], OH Country Day/Michigan Elite</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McCoy has a lot of explosiveness off the floor, which combines well with her fast follow through to deliver some tremendous pop on her swings. McCoy is also a good energy player that provides key moments that her team really feeds off of. As she continues to build on her defense and shot variety, she can become a dominant outside.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='523848' first='Nicole' last='McDowell'], MB/OH Notre Dame Prep/Legacy</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>McDowell is a violent hitter in the best way possible. She really comes down over the top of the ball to produce lightning-fast kills that defenses can't contend with. Her attacks from the middle are some of the best you will see, but she's also showing she can move to the outside and still deliver her potent attacks. As McDowell keeps adding to her game, she could be one of the top hitters in the class.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442971' first='Brenna' last='Mirovsky'], DS/S Oxford/Michigan Elite</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mirovsky is a great leader that takes on the challenges of playing two key roles that require communication. She's excelled as a setter and as a libero, not being afraid to step up wherever the team needs her. In both roles, Mirovsky stays alert and moves with purpose, keeping active eyes to make sure she's in position to succeed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='442993' first='Madison' last='Monroe'], DS/L Marian/L2</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Monroe does what you need a defender to do. She stays light on her feet and squares up to attacks to get clean passes and keep her offenses in-system. Monroe is agile and quick to react to make tough digs look somewhat easy. Her serving has also been a highlight of her game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='443000' first='Samantha' last='Monroe'], MB/RS Marian/L2</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Monroe shows a good range of shot selection and speeds. She is reading the blockers really well in order to find openings in the defense. She doesn't just rely on a power game, but she has the ability to turn of the intensity when needed. Her athleticism should allow her to keep raising her speed and tempo moving forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='523873' first='Cecilia' last='Murray'], MH Marian/Michigan Elite</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Murray is a middle that is showing a lot of promise. She's got the ability to play on the outside as well, but is using her powerful swing to finish points. Murray shows the skills to be able to wait for the ball and then unleash on it at the last moment to deliver devastating kills. She could be a big momentum-shifting player in the coming fall season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='454368' first='Lexa' last='Pierson'], OH Milford/L2</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Pierson is a really talented and polished player that shoulders a lot to try and carry her teams in all phases of the game. Along with having a technically sound swing that she's able to mix up speeds, Pierson is a really talented defender that has great passing ability and is very reliable in serve receive.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
