Rankings - 2027 Monster Middles

2027 rankings release and here is my list of eight outstanding Monster Middles you need to keep an eye on.    Claire is already a tremendous talent, and at 6'0”, she's going to be hard to deal with. What makes her so good is her power out of the middle. She hits over blockers and embarrasses her opponents with dominating blocking. Blocking comes naturally for her. She is full force when hitting and almost unstoppable out of the middle. She's a wow factor type player who is a big time ball bouncer.     If you are not watching Sienna, you are missing out. The HPSTL and Kirkwood product is 6'3”, and she is an imposing middle with so much upside to her game. Sienna is a more defensive middle at this point, but you see the flashes of what she can become as a hitter. She's strong and physical, and once she takes the I can't be stopped mentality, she will be a monster in the middle.     A Rockwood VBC and Lafayette High School player is getting great coaching on both levels, and the proof is in her improvement as she keeps getting stronger, faster, and better. At 6'0”, she already has the height, but what you notice is her quickness to the pins. She's off the floor quickly, making her a blocking machine. I can't wait to see what she does for Class 5 power Lafayette this fall.     One of the most overlooked middles in the 2027 class. Emory is ridiculously quick in the middle, from closing the pins to getting off the floor, she is going full force all the time. Love watching her transition from blocking to hitting because it's so fluid and quick. She gets her position and does it exceptionally well. Plays well above her 5'11” height because of her speed and quickness off the floor, making her one fun middle to watch. Plays with HPSTL 16 Royal and at Westminster Academy.     The Pleasant Hill Chicks will have a monster middle next fall in Laney. She played club for KC [program_tooltip program_id='428823' first='Voltage' last=''] and did a great job as the team's middle. Laney is another raw talent, but the sky is the limit with her potential. She can slam a ball, but she is more of a blocking middle now. With more reps, experience, and growth, her game will be next-level ready.     Amanda will be a doozy of a player for Eureka after a successful club season with Rockwood VBC. A long 6'0” with fast feet, great footwork in transition, strong swing, and nice vertical to her game. Amanda should be a strong Eureka player this fall and start to take off as a player. Excited to see what she can do over the next couple of years.     Who doesn't want a 6'3” middle who could easily slide over to the opposite and be a terminating attacker and shut-down blocker? Delaney had a big club season for KC [program_tooltip program_id='428823' first='Voltage' last=''], where she played middle. For Warrensburg last fall, she was an opposite who was a big-time offensive scorer on the right pin. She is still a little raw, but her potential is off the charts, and she is one player you need to watch out for.     I've written about Kylie recently, specifically her play at the Gateway Region Bid Event. She played for FC United 16 Black and St. Clair High School, where she will be the top returning attacker. Kylie has a high volleyball IQ, a quick bounce off the floor, and can be deadly with her power. She is a high-motor player who will find a team's weakness and exploit it consistently.
