Report No. 1,499: Prep Dig Kansas Alumni 2021-2025

In this article:
Prep Dig Kansas was launched in 2020, and I created the first rankings for the website.
Today, with this report and one on Prep Redzone Kansas (later this morning), I will have written 1,500 scouting reports for those two sites and Prep Girls Hoops Kansas combined.
To celebrate the achievement, I wanted to reflect on the literally thousands of Kansas student athletes I have seen over the past five years.
I could have selected dozens of talented athletes, but I decided to feature two from each Kansas Class that I have had some part in ranking over the years.
Here are 10 athletes who have earned my admiration and respect over that time.
As a lifelong Kansan, I feel honored to have covered such a large number of young student-athletes in this role.
I hope you enjoy report No. 1,499 and will also check out report No. 1,500 on Prep Redzone. I have made both reports, “Free Reports” so that they may be read without a subscription.
Please feel free to share this on social media platforms, and thanks for all of the continued support from athletes, coaches, and parents across the Sunflower State.
For those interested in subscribing for the first time, please use the Coupon Code Deckard30 to save 30 percent on a new subscription on any of the four Kansas Prep Network sites. Updated rankings for the Classes of 2027 and 2028 will be published this month, as well as the initial rankings for the Kansas Class of 2029.
Camryn Turner, Seaman, '21
Turner was one of the first top-ranked talents I saw play in person and one of the first to sign with a Division I program. The Seaman setter signed with Kansas University. She finished her collegiate career with back-to-back-to-back seasons with more than 1,000 assists. Turner achieved a mantle full of awards and accolades during her career at KU, including being named the 2023 Big 12 Setter of the Year. She is the original measuring stick for Prep Dig Kansas.
Jalyn Stevenson, Spring Hill, ‘21
Stevenson is one of many solid college prospects to come out of Spring Hill since I started scouting volleyball in Kansas. She signed with Washburn University out of high school. She led the Ichabods in kills three straight seasons. She also received plenty of All-Conference, and All-Region accolades playing at the Division II level. She is arguably the top in-state talent to compete for Washburn since I began scouting.
Ivy Fink, Royal Valley, ‘22
Fink is a talent I will never forget for multiple funny reasons. The Royal Valley prospect signed with Barton Community College out of high school and then went on to transfer to Pittsburg State University. She played 77 games for the Grizzlies and 53 matches for the Gorillas. She did a little bit of everything while at Pitt. She and I reconnected at Pitt while I was there to scout a summer high school tournament, and she was working the event before her first season with the Gorillas. Later, she was at my house while working a part-time summer job. Kansas is both a large state and a small world.
Taylor Stockman, Blue Valley West, ‘22
Stockman was the first athletes to completely dominate a state tournament in which I scouted. She was named to the Class 6A All-Tournament Team in Salina while leading the Jaguars to a state title. She signed with Nova Southeastern in Florida. She has been among the team leaders for the Sharks in kills the past three seasons and enters her senior season this fall.
Allie Paulsen, Andover Central, ‘22
Like Stevenson at Spring Hill, Paulsen is one of multiple players at Andover Central that I have grown to appreciate, and who have gone on to play collegiately. She helped guide the Jaguars to the Class 5A State Tournament and was named the MVP of her prep conference. She signed with the Wichita State Shockers after high school. She redshirted her first season as a Shocker and last season suffered an early-season injury. She will be classified as a redshirt sophomore heading into the 2025 season.
Avianna Deguzman, Junction City, ‘23
So I knew Deguzman as Ava and scouted her while she played with Junction City. In another small world moment, I also taught her older brother while serving as a History Instructor for Barton Community College. She is currently playing with the Iona Gaels. She recorded 214 digs during her sophomore season. She was third on the team in digs as a freshman with 175 digs. She is a Media and Communications Major and has earned a spot on the MAAC Honor Roll.
Hope Duncan, Smoky Valley, ‘24
The Kansas Class of 2024 was a special class for me. There were a large number of athletes in that class that I grew close to. One of those was Smoky Valley's Duncan. She was a star for my Alma Mater and played club ball with Kansas Networks. She set season records for the Vikings in both kills and digs. I saw her play multiple times, including at the KVA All-Star Match in 2024. She is playing with the Fort Hays Tigers. As a freshman, she appeared in 46 sets and recorded 27 digs for the Tigers.
Ashlynn Jaccard, Lansing, ‘24
Jaccard is another athlete who will always have a special place in my memory. I first saw the Lansing product compete in a club match in Wichita, and I remember writing about her primarily for the leadership skills she showed as a teammate. Then, while serving as both a scout for Prep Dig and as a Sports Correspondent for the Leavenworth Times, I saw her play multiple matches for the Lions. I spread her name to college coaches like she owed me money. She ended up landing at Cowley Community College. She played in 18 matches for the National Champion Tigers, recording 41 kills.

Budke was one of my favorite athletes in this current senior class. Beloit was a team that I saw multiple times the past two seasons and I admired Budke's physicality and ability to take over a match. The “Beloit Beast” was a member of my All-Deck Team and has committed to play for Nebraska-Kearney. I am still a little bitter that an out-of-state MIAA program snagged Budke, but super happy for her. She finished ranked No. 10 overall in the Prep Dig Kansas rankings for the Class of 2025.

Much like Budke, Washington is one of my favorite athletes who will graduate this month and is headed to an out-of-state MIAA program. She helped lead Andover Central to back-to-back Class 5A State Tournaments. She finished ranked No. 16 overall in the Kansas Class of 2025. Unlike Budke, she is headed south rather than north to pay for Central Oklahoma.
I wish all 10 of these athletes continued success in their future playing days and post-college years. If any of you want to scout for Prep Dig down the road, please reach out. Somebody has to replace me when I decide to hang it up.
Hopefully, that won't be for some time to come.
