28s Who Impressed At USAV Showcase 1

The class of 2028 showed up and showed off at the Prep Dig USAV Showcase #1 on Tuesday night in Dallas, Texas. They were playing at such a high level and were impressive from the very start until the final swing. Here are some athletes who caught my attention early on.    Brandenberger knows how to find the split inthe block and she will speed up her armswing to expose it. I could see her being lethal in all six rotations in a match because she has some big time power at the net. She is solid in serve receive and defense, and it makes her a fun athlete to watch. Brandenberger is aggressive and explosive at the net and she uses power to make big plays.     Marcinek takes a great, intentional slow-to-fast approach and has a high reach to get on top of the ball. She is fast and has a lot of power in her swing. Marcinek moves quickly from pin to pin to put up a consistent block. She brings a lot of power into the middle as well as a big presence at the net. Marcinek has good form and is diligent in each of her movements at the net.     Zanon did a great job of using smart plays to get the job done in drills. She was finding blockers with hand up high and using them to terminate. Zanon is an all-around talented athlete with solid serve receive and defense to back up her offense. At almost 6' she has a big presence at the net and has a lot of power and finesse to her attacking style.     Wow. Wolfe caught my attention early on in warm-ups and continued to impress with each phase of the showcase. She has such a high contact point because she just flies off the ground. She has a soft touch and moves it along the net so fast you can barely keep up. Ramirez is smart and tough to read, and if you do finally figure out how to read her, she's already put the ball in her hitters' hands.     I really loved watching Garcia and her athletic movement to the ball. She plays with a certain level of maturity, and she has a soft, quick touch on the ball. Garcia moves the ball around with ease and makes smart setting choices. She moves with confidence around the court, and she communicates really well with those around he,r whether she knows them or not!     Anderson was really solid in serve receive and a gritty defender. She is highly competitive and makes plays that energize her court. Anderson shows great form and found ways to impressed throughout the showcase.     Lombardi take an impossible pass from the 1 corner and works her magic to pass it over her shoulder and perfectly to her outside pin hitter. She has nice form and movement to the ball. Lombardi was executing some impressive sets, moving the ball around efficiently, and consistently feeding the attackers on her court.
