AAU 16 Open Features Ohio Prospects in Quarterfinal Round

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The quarterfinals of the AAU 16 Open national championships will take place Tuesday morning and will feature a match up between [program_tooltip program_id='430852' first='Tri-State' last='Elite'] 16 Blue from the Cincinnati area versus Legacy 16-1 ADIDAS that includes a few elite Ohio prospects. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>TSE is led by a 2028 setter in [player_tooltip player_id='582224' first='Penelope' last='Reisman'], one of the best in Ohio. She has length and skills, which make her stand out in how she fills all facets of her role. She has a great group of offensive threats around her that benefit from the fast tempo she leads them with when in system. [player_tooltip player_id='480821' first='Maisie' last='Jones'] is a left side hitter that brings big pace upon contact. [player_tooltip player_id='480838' first='Makenna' last='Meibers'] is a factor all around the floor as she can swing for points from both pins as well as contribute in first-contact areas. The 6'1 athleticism of middle [player_tooltip player_id='480837' first='Charley' last='Moeddel'] is one of this team's biggest asset as she is physical on both sides of the ball. Listed in Prep Dig's recent 2027 national rankings, Moeddel gets up well above the net and can bring heat or shut done opposing hitters at a good rate. Fellow middle [player_tooltip player_id='434971' first='Jillian' last='Forrest'] has the highest jump touch on the team and is equally effective with her arm as she has good power and range, which means this group has terrific presence between the pins in all rotations. [player_tooltip player_id='725304' first='Emme' last='Moser'] guides their passing and defense with good instincts and an efficient foundation in her movement. Additional contributors include middle <strong>Rachel Lewandowski</strong> and <strong>Francesca Hansel</strong> from Kentucky. Finishing 5th at the recent Players Championship, this team has experience being in the hunt late in tournaments and if they can get past Legacy, the overall #1 seed in this national championship event, they have a good shot to get to the end.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For Legacy, there is a trio of high performing Ohio athletes that help them compete at a very high level as one of the best 16U teams in the country. Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='480861' first='Bryn' last='Meyer'] (*pictured) is a a handful for any defense. At #69 in the Prep Dig 2027 national rankings (#2 in Ohio), Meyer is 6'2 and can get up on the left pin. Some of the best gains in Meyer's game this club season after arriving at Legacy include her assertiveness as an attacker as she is very aggressive, which has elevated her confidence and command given her role and volume of work and success for this team. In the middle is [player_tooltip player_id='592201' first='Frankie' last='Ramsdell-Washington'], an athletic prospect with quickness and elevation. Her game has also improved as her impact on both sides of the ball is more efficient and effective. At #4 overall in Ohio, she cracked the top-100 nationally for 2027 at #98 according to Prep Dig's national scouts. The third Ohio prospect on this team is [player_tooltip player_id='732846' first='Charlotte' last='Gardner']. She is a left side hitter and a ball control contributor. At 5'11, she has good length, especially in the passing and defensive phases where she makes some of her biggest contributions.
