PrepDig Arkansas Player of the Year Finalist: Club Season

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As we are nearing the end of the club volleyball season, most teams have only one tournament left. This tournament is Nationals. As a volleyball coach myself, I have had the opportunity to attend many tournaments in Arkansas and out of state to scout the amazing athletes we have in Arkansas. Her high contact point and strong arm swing is near impossible to defend. Lenox does a great job at swinging around the block and going thumb up or thumb down. She also puts up a pretty impressive block. Gonzalez runs many different plays from the outside that can catch the opposing defense off guard and on their heels. Gonzalez runs a great two ball with her setter and middle that causes the middle blockers to go up early, leaving an open net for her. She is a very hard libero to get the ball past because she lays out everything to keep the ball off the floor. She does a great job at reading the opposing attackers and sees where their shoulders, hand, and feet are facing. Cabantac has a great connection with all of her hitters. She is a pretty aggressive setter and does a great job at faking out the opposing blockers. Cabantac has a strong arm swinging on the right side. Freeman makes some very smart plays out of the middle like swinging in between the seams of the back row and tipping right over the middle blocker in the middle of the court. Freeman has a really good connection with her setter. Sargent is very impressive at digging up hard driven swings, especially for her age. Sargent reads the hitters really well and is very good at picking up tips or roll shots in the middle of the court. Sargent also has pretty good out of system sets. She is a huge momentum booster. Reeves does great at swinging around the blocking and pushing points in critical moments. Reeves also puts up an impressive block and does a really good job at closing the block with the pin hitters. Lightfoot does a great job at pushing the sets out to the pins to give them the ability to swing line. She also is great and consistent at setting fast tempo sets to the middles.
