It may only be June but high school programs are beginning their summer leagues and preparing for team camps. Let's take a look at who we think will be the top 5 in class 6A this upcoming season. For context, A few assumptions: There is no shift in teams that we don't already know about, there are no transfers that we don't already know about and that we keep the same playoff format. Also, these are just our guesses on how the season pans out. We will happily be proven wrong or proven right depending on how your season pans out.

5- Edmond Memorial

Last season Edmond Memorial was 28-13 overall and ended as state champions! They only graduated two seniors last season and had a monster junior class. Looking as if they would be the clear favorite for this season. Unfortunately they have lost two of their best players with an injury and a transfer. Head coach Natalie Murray stepped down this past fall and was replaced by assistant coach, Kortney Jones. That being said, they are still a top 5 squad that has a ton of talented upperclassmen, always have a well above average freshman group, and a ton of top tier experience. Seniors like Karis Abseid, [player_tooltip player_id='748132' first='Camryn' last='Bauer'], [player_tooltip player_id='778110' first='Maddy' last='Kirk'], [player_tooltip player_id='778113' first='Scout' last='Killackey'], [player_tooltip player_id='778111' first='Tessa' last='Bohannon'], [player_tooltip player_id='778114' first='Cambri' last='Karl'], [player_tooltip player_id='778112' first='Brinley' last='Awtry'], and of course Eyiloluwafe Adedeji. That isnt even counting [player_tooltip player_id='755551' first='Addison' last='Levescy'], [player_tooltip player_id='578520' first='Mackenzi' last='Law'], and transfer Juliana Thorton. They have plenty of talent to cause issues for teams but with the loss of key players and their head coach, I have them at 5.

4- Deer Creek

The always tough Deer Creek Antlers finished the season with a 25-10 record and went into the state tournament ranked #2 overall. Their head coach also stepped away and was replaced by assistant coach, Lynsey Coleman. Deer Creek takes a hit with graduating Georgia Byers, Morgan Manning and Jordyn Baker. Although they lost a lot of experience in those three players, they are returning the makings for a really solid front row. Players like [player_tooltip player_id='744539' first='Landry' last='Key'], [player_tooltip player_id='286286' first='Kelsi' last='Wilson'], [player_tooltip player_id='666282' first='Kamryn' last='Jackson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='752788' first='Josie' last='Johnson'] all are top tier hitters. This will be a hungry group that will have eyes on the title. Deer Creek vs Memorial will be a very intriguing matchup that you will not want to miss.

3- Broken Arrow

The Beasts from the East, Broken Arrow, finished the season 25-11. They started the season on fire, only losing three total matches in August. They lost a pair of All State selections and college commits in [player_tooltip player_id='740700' first='Candace' last='Fuchs'] and Grace Marshall. They have plenty of depth in the program though, one of the perks of the largest ADM in the state and a plethora of talented coaches. Likely the most talented setter duos in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='284930' first='Lilly' last='Boswell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='610402' first='Aliyah' last='Owens']. Both also very capable of playing front row as well. Then all sorts of options up front with [player_tooltip player_id='740536' first='Maddy' last='Hammer'], [player_tooltip player_id='740695' first='Devine' last='Okon'], [player_tooltip player_id='394610' first='Emmerson' last='Meador'], [player_tooltip player_id='747182' first='Jordyn' last='Garner'], and the addition of transfer, [player_tooltip player_id='740998' first='Kelsey' last='Patton']. But wait theres more, the group of passers is pretty elite as well, with [player_tooltip player_id='740633' first='Olivia' last='Shanahan'], [player_tooltip player_id='711971' first='Leighton' last='Tracy'], and Kamryn Lehrman. They went to the 5th set with Memorial at state and will have a very balanced crew that will be looking to avenge that loss and make it to atleast round 2.

2- Edmond Santa Fe

The Wolves of Edmond Santa Fe went 22-14 last season and squeezed their way past Mustang 15-12 to get to state. Yes yes they lost TCU commit, Anna Rice, and that will be hard to replace BUT hear me out. They have one of the deepest pools of talent to pick from and head coach, Drew McCarty, has been quietly building a team ready to make a run at the title. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='752557' first='Blair' last='Smith'], [player_tooltip player_id='752599' first='Caryl' last='Womack'], [player_tooltip player_id='297161' first='Kalli' last='Fox'], [player_tooltip player_id='752540' first='Nayeli' last='Dragoo-Crawford'], and [player_tooltip player_id='297159' first='Sam' last='Kinyanjui'] to pick up the offense and carry it even further. [player_tooltip player_id='297160' first='Darci' last='Shuck'] looked really good at regionals post injury. Keep an eye out for [player_tooltip player_id='284935' first='Reagan' last='Mason'], [player_tooltip player_id='778118' first='Ava' last='Crawford'], and [player_tooltip player_id='745100' first='Alyssa' last='Andriaanse'] all to find ways to add value.

1- Jenks

The perennial powerhouse Trojans of Jenks went 23-13 last season. Only 1 team, Moore, had single digit losses on the season. The tough schedules that these top programs play gets them ready for the state tournament. Jenks will be hungry to win the title after winning it in 2023 and losing a heartbreaker to Edmond North last season. College commits, Lola Ojo and Juliana Borchers, both graduated but just like others on this list, they have a ton of talented players ready to fill in and shine. [player_tooltip player_id='740328' first='Blaire' last='Barber'] was a great six rotation player for them last year as a freshman. [player_tooltip player_id='740709' first='Isabella' last='Hinds'], [player_tooltip player_id='285743' first='Savannah' last='Wright'] and [player_tooltip player_id='742486' first='Payton' last='Shafer'] likely all battle for the setting job. [player_tooltip player_id='756449' first='Faizah' last='Omotayo'], Addyson Prichett, and Catherine Borchers all had huge developmental club seasons. Jordyn Payne, [player_tooltip player_id='742724' first='Emmerson' last='Hill'], and [player_tooltip player_id='748838' first='Cassidy' last='Williams'] all have a chance to make waves this season. It is anyone's title this coming year but I think Jenks gets it done in 2025.
