Sophomore ID Showcase Players to Watch Vol 2

It is time to raise your stock in our wonderful series of showcases that are coming to Texas at the end of this month. We get lots of messages on social media and emails that ask how players can get on our radar or improve their ranking on our website. The answer is very simple. Our scouts need to see you in action. What better way is there than to participate in live drills where our scouts will be in attendance. Our showcases are second to none since we are the only brand to give coverage before, during and after the event ends. You don't want to miss out as there will be some of our state's best players already signed up to showcase their skills. Let's meet a few of the players who will be participating.    Kendall is coming off of a wonderful season on Dallas Skyline 15 Royal David where she excelled at the net on both offense and defense. After watching her squad a few times this year, I am eagerly anticipating her performance against some of the best sophomores in the state at the showcase. As an attacker, she is capable of running multiple routes with power and definitely attracts the block anytime she approaches. This will be key for the pins on her side to get some splits or one on one situations due to her strong approach and attention. What also is glaring to me when I watch her play is how she already understands the concept of hitting solid angles around the block in order to stay efficient and effective attacking at a high level. We think she will perform very well and encourage everyone to give her a few looks during the showcase. We will definitely be watching her closely.     Syd has some great size to her frame and the game to back it up. All too often we see players with height just take up space and not be very aggressive at the net. Miss Dodson shows some promise as she attacks with tons of power from different angles. I also like that she is not afraid of playing a little defense after her serve if that is what her team needs. With more time, she will be able to develop her skills further and use that awesome power of hers on both ends of the game. We like what we see right now and think she will perform wonderfully at the showcase. There is definitely something to watch from her and we will be front and center. You should also.     When it comes to volleyball there is an adage that says, “you can't teach height.” While not everyone is blessed to be born with taller genetics, Avery definitely has. At this young age, she is already listed at six foot two. A lot of younger taller players find it hard to move well until they get time and strength to acclimate their body. Miss Merkle is a great combination of both size, speed and athleticism that translates very well to the volleyball court. She has already made some headlines during last school season as she earned first team all district honors for her efforts and we think after a good club season, she is primed and ready for another solid run. We are definitely going to be watching her closely at the showcase to report back on what we see with her skill set. Stay tuned.
