NTX Superstars of the Week: 5

<p>Week 5 of my superstars of the week. Going into this round, we're coming off of a Big weekend of play. 18s Regional Bid Championships came to a close, and the last bid qualifier for NTR. She proved herself to be a true difference-maker on the court. Skyline has a gem in this one, as Carr combines impressive size and strength with an infectious energy that elevates her entire team. Her confidence is evident in every play, whether she's closing the block with authority or attacking decisively at the net. Carr's competitive edge sets her apart, as she thrives in high-pressure moments and consistently brings intensity from start to finish. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">16 Queen</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='534607' first='Kaitlyn' last='Shoumbert'], a fearless defensive specialist for [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''], played a pivotal role in her team's championship run in the 16 Open division at Texas Classic. Never hesitant to chase down a ball or put her body on the line. Shoumbert brings a relentless, playmaking mentality that energizes everyone around her. Whether it's a diving dig, a quick read in serve receive, or covering hitters in transition, she embraces every opportunity to keep the ball alive. Her defensive mindset and determination are key factors in [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last='']s play. Playing at this level proves that Shoumbert's grit and confidence can shift momentum and spark success when it matters most.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">17 Killer</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='762460' first='Gabriella' last='McHenry'], a 6'1” outside hitter for [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''], is a dynamic offensive force who consistently delivers with purpose and efficiency. She swings to terminate, and more often than not, she does just that—turning quality sets into near-automatic points. McHenry's ability to score in rhythm makes her a go-to option in crucial moments, and her presence on the pin keeps defenses on edge. Beyond her physical tools, it's her energy and confidence on the court that truly stand out, as she brings a steady momentum to her side and fuels her team with every point she earns.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">18s To See</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='579175' first='Aubrey' last='Dean'], setter for DIG, is the definition of steady and dependable on the court. She runs a controlled, well-balanced tempo that allows her hitters to stay in rhythm and perform at their best. Her consistency stands out, as she delivers clean, accurate sets time after time. Making her a reliable leader in the offense. Dean also brings value from the service line, where her strong, confident serve helps her team gain early momentum and put pressure on opponents right from the first toss.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Karina Esteves, a strong and polished 18s setter, brings confidence and control to every aspect of the game. She commands the net with poise, delivering clean, consistent sets that keep her offense in rhythm and her hitters in system. Esteves doesn't just rely on precision—she pairs it with relentless effort, hustling to track down every ball and make a play happen, no matter how out of system it may be. Her composure, work ethic, and ability to create opportunities out of chaos make her a true leader on the court and a setter teammates trust in every moment.</p>
