Moving right along in our positional breakdowns, we talk about each team's bigs and their impacts on their respective rosters. Here are five middles from five different clubs from around the state that have a bunch to offer teams starting in the fall of 2027.

The highest jumper with the longest reach on this list, Milana's instant impact for Circle's top 16s team was obvious, bringing size, speed and a high attack touch. More of a quiet assassin than a “look at me” type of player, her defensive length also stands out, as she can defend from pin to pin in just a couple of steps. I look forward to further development from Miss Mays, as she gets stronger and faster this fall for Fishers.

I'm cheating a bit here, because Avery DOES take reps in the middle, but might be more of a right side as her career continues. Miss Olsen is a big and physical blocker whose attacking skills are slowly but surely catching up to the wall that she is on defense. Like most her size, the defense has developed first, but you can't teach 6'2”, so having that type of size at Penn will be key for their success this fall.

Another silent attacker, this time from Franklin Central and the Academy, is Brooklyn, who can out jump and is faster in transition than most middles in this or any graduating class. Able to be up and ready instantly, her quick movements and springy nature will serve her well going forward. Everything she does is terminal; her attack gets to the floor quickly, while her block form is textbook. I like this kid a lot, and it's only a matter of time before college coaches do too.

Yet another long and lean Westfield product, Madden may look lithe, but can transition and get up with the best of them. The motor is definitely there for constant and consistent readiness to attack, which is a trait lacking in a lot of middles at this age. Her strength is coming—-just in the last year alone, she's added some speed to her arm swing and lift in her jumping. Also, her future is as an M2, with those extra long arms making her look significantly taller than her frame.

I've personally seen Audrey take reps in both the middle and the outside, but since she does SO well as a middle, I'll keep her here—-for now. Audrey's ability to hit all angles regardless of where the set location is OR what position she plays makes her quite marketable for the small school crowd. More of an M2 because of her solid two-footed approach, Miss Staggs is a strong, dependable middle from western Indiana that can use her upper body strength to her advantage on both offense and defense.
