Buried on the depth chart behind two high-level Division I middles at Westfield, Madden has REALLY shown out this spring and is more than capable of being included among the best her graduating class has to offer. Length is her strength, and she uses every inch of her frame to block exceptionally well and attack at a very high point. Whomever picks up this young lady in the class of ‘27 will receive a high character, high work ethic middle who can do everything AND have a size advantage once she arrives on a campus. I look forward to the remainder of her career, as she’s one of my favorite kids available in this class.

Long, lean and quick, Madden comes from a high school program that is one of the best in the state at the current moment. She’s not getting as much playing time at the high school level, but her club play has REALLY shone brightly this spring. With a high contact point, a solid block and the ability to be ready to attack quickly, Madden will be a steal for any program looking for a big middle with a ton of potential.

Part of the stable of middles at Westfield, Madden has known nothing but high-end, open-level play and training during her volleyball career. Size is the key here, as there are very few in this or any class in Indiana that can match her 6’3” frame. Capable of playing either middle position, Madden’s long transitional strides quickly switch her from defense to offense, and setters can connect with her because of that relentless drive with her legs.

Long, lean and the biggest on this list today, Madden is part of a massive stable of Westfield middles that would be a huge pickup for any college looking for true size from Indiana. Consistently hitting high and deep in front of the setter, Madden’s ability to make some blocks look obsolete is what she’s known for. Transitionally quick and consistent in her repeatable arm swing, she’s as hidden of a gem as you can be when you’re 6’3” and from Westfield. I look forward to seeing her in action this coming weekend.

I’m pretty sure that, since the last time I saw Madden play, she’s grown again. Madden has length for days as a middle with a high attack touch and a whip for an arm, and definitely looks the part of an M2 at the next level. More or less “stuck” behind two outstanding middles at Westfield, Miss Showalter is an absolute steal for anyone looking for a lengthy, defensive-minded middle who excels in quick transition and attack. As part of the 1s team in every age group she’s been a part of at Rev, her level of play is already accustomed to “open”, her physicality and stamina has adjusted to her height change over the years, and she’s even seeing some pin attacking from time to time to add to her skill set. Madden, in short, is a hidden gem of a middle that is seemingly better and taller every time I see her play.

Yet another long and lean Westfield product, Madden may look lithe, but can transition and get up with the best of them. The motor is definitely there for constant and consistent readiness to attack, which is a trait lacking in a lot of middles at this age. Her strength is coming—-just in the last year alone, she’s added some speed to her arm swing and lift in her jumping. Also, her future is as an M2, with those extra long arms making her look significantly taller than her frame.
