Games of the Week: Week 2

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Each week we are going to take a look at 3 matchups throughout the upcoming week that are a MUST see. We will also have a Tournament of the Week to go with it. Week 1 is officially in the books. Lots of solid matchups and all sorts of tournament action was a great way to kick off the 2025 season. Now let's take a look at week 2.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>8/19 Edmond Memorial @ Mustang</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Very interesting matchup tonight. Mustang has started the season off right with a win over Norman North and then a 2nd place finish at the Sandite Inv. They are sitting at 5-2 so far with both losses being in the final set by less than 5 points each. They did sweep Bishop Kelley, Owasso and Bishop McGuinness which are all solid programs. Meanwhile Edmond Memorial is sitting at 1-0 with a convincing win over Yukon last week. Although they lost some really good players to graduation and transfer, they have PLENTY of players hungry to make a name for themselves and not skip a beat. Recent San Jose State commit, [player_tooltip player_id='578520' first='Mackenzi' last='Law'], is a load on the right side both offensively and defensively. She makes life rough for opposing teams at all times. When she and [player_tooltip player_id='816085' first='Lolufe' last='Adedeji'] are up front together... just set the ball somewhere else. Tack on the extrodinary play of [player_tooltip player_id='755551' first='Addison' last='Levescy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='284931' first='Karis' last='Abiseid'] in back row and you got some key cornerstone players to make another run at state. Dont sleep on players like [player_tooltip player_id='833450' first='Julianna' last='Thornton'], [player_tooltip player_id='778114' first='Cambri' last='Karl'], [player_tooltip player_id='798626' first='Scout' last='Killackey'] and [player_tooltip player_id='748132' first='Camryn' last='Bauer'] either! For Mustang [player_tooltip player_id='747785' first='Brooke' last='Base'] had herself a solid tournament at Sand Springs along with the game winning stuff block against Bishop McGuinness. [player_tooltip player_id='478593' first='Reagan' last='Glenn'] is just an all around dawg which is why she was picked to the all tournament team. [player_tooltip player_id='826277' first='Grace' last='Davis'] and Zoey Shlegel made some big time plays as well. Both crews have players who can BANG. There should be plenty of fireworks going on in the trenches tonight! Washington</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>State championship rematch from the past TWO seasons. Both make massive plays every single set and are the clear leaders of their teams. It will come down to other hitters for each team to make some key plays when needed. Players like [player_tooltip player_id='822225' first='Anna' last='Spurlock'], [player_tooltip player_id='740833' first='Brooklyn' last='Dalgarn'], [player_tooltip player_id='740637' first='Lauren' last='Pero'], [player_tooltip player_id='752753' first='Desiyah' last='Williams'], and [player_tooltip player_id='819203' first='Sophia' last='Lynch']. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='554318' first='Jentri' last='Denwalt'] is already making an impact for MSM! Her sister Cheyenne is doing a great job in the back row as the libero. Speaking of libero, BTW has a solid one in [player_tooltip player_id='741359' first='Paisley' last='Leyva'].
