The Eagles graduated five seniors from last year's squad and will lean on a group of young talent that logged some key playing time a year ago.

Here is a look at a squad deep at the setter position and on the back row, but the key question for this team is who will become a reliable hitter.

[player_tooltip player_id='551331' first='Ellie' last='Wisdom'], 5'9”, S/OH ,'27

The first of the Wisdom setters is the only returning athlete who led the Eagles in a key statistical category last season. She finished with 517 assists in 88 sets as a sophomore. She filled in for her older sister Zoe, who was beset by injuries. Wisdom is ranked No. 15 overall by Prep Dig Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='808252' first='Addi' last='Wisdom'], 5'9”, S/OH, '28

Wisdom played in 87 varsity sets last season and could be a primary attacking option for Maize. She finished with 165 kills as a freshman. She is ranked No. 13 overall by Prep Dig Kansas in the Class of 2028 rankings. She could also be used at the setter position some, but she will need to step up her overall production if the Eagles are to finish with a winning season.

[player_tooltip player_id='524698' first='Brylee' last='Lindgren'], 5'9”, OH, ‘27

Lindgren returns with the most kills from last year's team. She finished with 167 kills in 70 sets played, just two more kills than [player_tooltip player_id='808252' first='Addi' last='Wisdom']'s totals. She is ranked No. 54 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. Maize lost both of their top two finishers in blocks last season. Lindgren recorded 20 blocks last season and will attempt to help make blocking a strength of the team. The Eagles as a team recorded just 87 blocks last season and lost 70 of those with the graduation of three seniors.

[player_tooltip player_id='809460' first='Tinley' last='Travis'], 5'4”, DS/L, ‘26

Travis is an athlete I enjoyed watching play last season. She is ranked No. 67 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. She finished her junior season with 263 digs and 373 serve receptions last season. Maize graduated its starting libero from a year ago. Travis could wear the libero jersey this season or be used as a defensive specialist to utilize her ups and hitting ability. She did finish with 47 kills as a junior, which represents the third-highest kill total from returning athletes.

[player_tooltip player_id='515306' first='Lyric' last='Duncan'], 5'6”, RS/DS, '26 (Pictured Above)

Duncan is ranked No. 79 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. She played in 82 varsity sets recording 142 assists, 116 digs, and 24 kills. She could be a utility player for the Eagles.

Skylar Duncan and [player_tooltip player_id='859701' first='Evelyn' last='Tran'] are two back row options and should see their first time at the varsity level this season.
