I was up at the crack of dawn to scout two early matches in the Rossville Inviational.

I scouted the host Bulldawgs for the first time in a long time. Rossville won back-to-back three sets matches over Osage City and Holton to start Pool A play 2-0.

Here is a look at prospects from Rossville who had solid matches.

The Rossville junior had herself an outstanding morning reaching the 1.000 career kill plateau. Burdiek leads the Bulldogs in kills. She had recorded 159 kills heading into the tournament. She is ranked No. 38 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. During the win over Osage City, she recorded a match-high 20 kills with 12 serve receptions and nine digs. She also had two blocks in the win over the Indians. In the second victory over Holton, she finished with 15 kills, 10 serve receptions, and eight digs. She is a six-rotation, multiple-sport prospect. She did share with me that volleyball is the sport she wants to pursue collegiately.

[player_tooltip player_id='728440' first='Kenna' last='Perine'], 5'3” S, Rossville, '29

The other giant standout performance came from the diminutive Perine. This freshman can flat out set a ball. She is currently unranked, but that will change. Look for her to debut somewhere in the top 20 during the October rankings update. She registered 27 assists in the opening match and dished out 25 assists in the win over the Wildcats. She also added a combined 12 digs and three aces in the two matches. I liked her quickness, and her game is far more mature than her years. There is little doubt that she runs the offense. She is not shy like many freshmen would or could be. She is confident in her skills and plays with contagious energy.

Ady Henry, 5'5” DS/L, Rossville, '27

With Perine being one of the emotional leaders on the court, Rossville's quiet assassin is junior libero, Henry. She just quietly grinds away at the opposition's hitting confidence. She was peppered with balls in both matches, tallying 18 digs and 13 serve receptions against Osage City, and totals of 20 digs and 13 serve receptions against Holton. She makes consistent first passes.

[player_tooltip player_id='818797' first='Shailee' last='Hubbell'], 5'9”, OH, Rossville, '26

Hubbell is a senior flying under the radar. She is ranked No. 151 by Prep Dig Kansas, and based on what I saw, I can say make an argument that she is underbanked. She is lanky, physical, and can play six rotations. She is the best blocker on the Rossville roster. She finished the two matches with six total kills and three blocks. She has a wicked serve that moves like a Grant Ashcraft slider. It looks like it is headed out of bounds, but stays in and eats up defenders. I would recommend her to the NAIA and JUCO coaches who follow me closely.
