Rossville Invitational Stat Monsters

I scouted two early morning matches in Pool A of the Rossville Invitational on September 20.

The Osage City Indians and Holton Wildcats each loss tough three-set matches to the host Bulldawgs.

I did not get to scout any of the Pool B matches which completed three rounds of matches before the third matches in Pool A even began. I did hear that Jefferson West and Silver Lake had solid efforts in the AM Session.

Here is a look at six prospects who filled up their stat sheets in their respective losses.

[player_tooltip player_id='480408' first='Tinley' last='Wilson'], 5'10”, OH, Holton, '27

Wilson played her consistent six-rotation match, which this scout has become accustomed to seeing. In the loss to Rossville, she collected 13 digs, three kills, nine serve receptions, and one block. She is ranked No. 9 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She is the team's leader, so much so that she helped taped and nursed a wounded teammate during breaks. She can jump and play salty defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='553079' first='Rebekah' last='Lassey'], 6'1”, MB, Holton, '27

Lassey is the most physically athletic player on the Holton roster. She recorded nine kills and two blocks. She has a huge frame, and her swing is a little long, but she makes the ball scream when she contacts it. She is ranked No. 34 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. She is being recruited by a couple of out-of-state programs, but I would love to see a Kansas program sweep in and make her an offer she can't refuse.

[player_tooltip player_id='567485' first='Khloe' last='Black'], 5'9”, OH/DS, Holton, '28

Black earned all kinds of points with me on Saturday. During Holton's first match win over Ottawa (which I did not scout), she suffered a dislocated finger. It got popped back into place, she taped it up, and kept on grinding. She finished with a double-double against Rossville, finishing with 11 kills and 13 digs. She is another six-rotation athlete with a high ceiling. Black is currently ranked No. 25 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028.

[player_tooltip player_id='520311' first='Jewelia' last='Kitselman'], 5'10” MB, Osage City, '26

Kitselman is ranked No. 181 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. She entered the tournament as the team leader in kills with 92 in 28 sets played. She registered 16 digs, six kills, 11 serve receptions, two blocks, and two aces in Osage City's three-set loss to Rossville. She played six rotations and played solid backrow defense. She has the knack for ending long rallies with key plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='814649' first='Kaelyn' last='Boss'], 5'8” MB, Osage City, '28

Boss is a multi-sport athlete ranked No. 6 overall in the Prep Girls Hoops Kansas rankings. She entered the tournament second on the team in kills with 91 in 28 sets played. She recorded a team-high nine kills in the loss. She could play college volleyball, but it seems she has her sights set on playing college basketball. I scouted her during her freshman basketball season, and she has sick double-double skills on the court.

Emory Speece, 5'2” DS/L, Osage City, '26

Speece was another stat monster for the Indians. She collected 17 digs and 22 serve receptions for the Indians. I also watched her play basketball last season, and I loved the way she played defense. She is being recruited by Division I and Division II track and cross country programs.
