The Kansas City volleyball scene served up a heavyweight battle this week as No. 7 Lee's Summit North traveled to No. 10 Park Hill for a clash that lived up to every ounce of its billing. With both teams sitting firmly inside the top ten of our KC Metro [program_tooltip program_id='428794' first='Power' last=''] Rankings, the intensity was as high as the stakes.

Lee's Summit North came in with four losses, but all against elite opponents. Park Hill carried just a single blemish on its record. On paper, the two squads were nearly inseparable. On the court, they played like it.

Set One: Broncos Survive a Marathon

Park Hill came out swinging in the opener, feeding off its home crowd and racing to an early lead. But the Broncos refused to fold, clawing their way back into the set. What followed was a back-and-forth slugfest, with neither side willing to give an inch. Finally, in a marathon finish, North outlasted The Hill 29–27, stealing the momentum.

Set Two: Park Hill Punches Back

Dropping the first didn't faze Park Hill. The Trojans regrouped, traded blows with the Broncos, and seized control late in the second set. Behind relentless pressure at the net, they closed it out 25–21 to even the match.

Set Three: North Takes Over

The third belonged entirely to the visitors. Lee's Summit North's service pressure wreaked havoc, and their offense finally clicked into rhythm. The Broncos dominated wire-to-wire, cruising to a 25–13 victory.

Set Four: Finishing Strong

The final frame echoed the opener — runs from both sides, momentum swings, and a packed gym hanging on every point. But in the end, North's serving proved the difference. With 13 aces on the night, the Broncos slammed the door, sealing a hard-fought 25–23 win to take the match in four.

Player Spotlights

[player_tooltip player_id='485632' first='Leighton' last='Benne'] (Lee's Summit North) — The floor general continues to impress. Calm, confident, and crafty, Benne directed the offense with poise, mixing in perfectly timed dumps that swung momentum in crucial moments.

[player_tooltip player_id='357615' first='Piper' last='Bahr'] (Lee's Summit North) — When the pressure mounted, Bahr wanted the ball. She scored from every angle on the court, proving to be North's go-to weapon in the clutch.

[player_tooltip player_id='886202' first='Nylah' last='Rinard'] (Lee's Summit North) — The freshman's raw talent was on display, showing glimpses of the bright future ahead.

[player_tooltip player_id='834151' first='Kenzie' last='Huhman'] (Lee's Summit North) — Brought infectious energy and explosive athleticism, giving the Broncos a spark in big stretches.

[player_tooltip player_id='666872' first='Payton' last='Osegueda'] (Park Hill) — The offensive star for the Trojans racked up 19 kills, delivering in the biggest moments to keep Park Hill alive deep into the fourth

[player_tooltip player_id='222074' first='Parker' last='Kimball'] & [player_tooltip player_id='778363' first='Nikyah' last='Chappell'] (Park Hill) — The middle duo anchored a block party, combining for thirteen of the Trojans' 24 team blocks. Their presence at the net forced North to work for every point.

Final Take

This matchup had everything: long rallies, momentum swings, standout individual performances, and two top-ten teams refusing to back down. In the end, Lee's Summit North's aggressive service game and steady leadership from its veterans made the difference.
