Class 4A Regional Standouts Who Caught My Eye

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I was able to catch a couple of Regional semi-final games and the Regional Championship game. Joliet West had some great talent and won their match-up against Yorkville in the Regional Title game. Other teams I was able to see were Yorkville, Oswego East and Joliet Central. On Tuesday night I saw a great 3 set match with Yorkville and Oswego East with Yorkville coming out on top. The other semi-final game was Joliet West who beat Joliet Central in 2 sets. She displayed a great skill set on the court. Was a good passer from the backrow in serve receive and moved well back there. In the front row she showed off some nice swings giving power and finesse. Her positive attitude and encouragement to teammates really stuck out as well. During games against Joliet Central and Yorkville she recorded a lot of nice kills and showed off her skills. She played all around, giving nice passes out the back row and gave some great kills in both games. She really extends and stretches well when going up for kills making her 5ft 11 inch frame even bigger. She played the OH spot and had some big kills. She was getting up over the block and tooling the block as well. She is able to go pinky down and cut it to the back left corner or come with power for the kill. She recorded multiple kills in the 2 games that I watched and showed off an assortment of hits. She can come at you with power or give you a change up landing the ball in the open spot. She seems to have good instincts on the court and still has one more year left at Yorkville. She has a great feel for the game and where that ball is being hit too. She has no hesitation in the backrow and digs a lot of tough driven balls and tips. Serve receive was top notch and was dropping dimes every game she played. She's the type of player you want at that libero position. She is gritty and isn't afraid to put her body on the line or in front of the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>These players were fun to watch and left their mark during the games that they played. Any team would be lucky to have these girls. They battled with their teams and made big plays. Congrats again to Joliet West on their Regional Title victory. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
