Lexie Grevengoed is a complete outside with a well-rounded impact across rotations. Her approach is efficient and controlled, and she does a strong job creating space to attack while staying connected to the tempo of the offense. She transitions quickly and positions herself to be available in every phase.

What elevates Grevengoed is her ability to contribute beyond scoring. She is engaged in serve-receive, active in defensive coverage, and consistently involved in the flow of play. Why she’s on a coach’s short list: A true all-around outside who brings stability, versatility, and consistent impact across every phase of the match.

Lexi displayed a lot of talent on the court. During games against Joliet Central and Yorkville she recorded a lot of nice kills and showed off her skills. She played all around, giving nice passes out the back row and gave some great kills in both games. She really extends and stretches well when going up for kills making her 5ft 11 inch frame even bigger. Only a sophomore playing Varsity, she has a great career ahead of her at Joliet West, just getting started.

Lexie Grevengoed is only a sophomore and has been a key catalyst for the 32-3 Tigers of Joliet West.

Grevengoed has 300 kills on the season which is good for nearly four kills per set while also being a solid defender. She has over 200 digs on the season (2.7 digs/set) and has nearly 50 aces on the year.

Grevengoed just bounces off the ground with her approach, she is able to hit a variety of shots, and with her court vision she has a knack for scoring points in bunches. The Tigers have the top seed in their sectional heading into post season play.

It’s hard to believe a talent like hers can be unnoticed, but with this talented team, it’s possible to forget who scored what. Lexie can make every big play with her swing. Working the floor from all angles, covering the right side, giving the same power and ability. Even back middle versatility. Not afraid to give her body and lay it out for the dig. Single blocking on the net is a high skill.

I was able to see Lexie Grevengoed Lexie Grevengoed 5'11" | OH/RS Joliet West | 2028 State IL at the JVA World Challenge with her Sports Performance 15 Elite squad.  The six rotation outside hitter plays with such a swagger and rises to the big points.  She has a confident demeanor where she is fundamentally sounds in every aspect of an outside hitter’s game.  She moves well, is fast to the ball, and is able to hit the ball at the highest point possible.  There is also an “It” factor about her game where she wants the ball in big moments. She has quite the lineage of volleyball genes with family all around the game, including older sister, Ava Grevengoed at Northern Illinois.
