The Class of 2030 setters showed up ready to run the floor, command huddles, and dish out some of the cleanest touch we've seen at this age group. From on-the-move dimes to fearless defensive reads, these athletes didn't just participate—they took over the showcase. What stood out most was their hustle and court ownership. Every rep was taken like it mattered. Every scramble ball turned into an opportunity. And every setter brought her own unique flavor of leadership, energy, and creativity to the floor. These young quarterbacks made a statement today: the next wave of NorCal setters is skilled, competitive, and already raising the standard. Let's check out the players who rocked NorCal today. [player_tooltip player_id='852192' first='Emily' last='Garrido'] – Setter Emily shows early signs of being a rhythm-setter—calm hands, steady platform, and a natural feel for running clean repetitions no matter the tempo around her. Today she impressed with her ability to square up to target, even when passes drifted off the net. Her footwork stays disciplined, and she consistently delivers hittable balls with a smooth, quiet release that coaches will immediately notice. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas This club season, expect Emily to continue sharpening her decision-making and develop more assertiveness in transition, becoming the type of setter who stabilizes her offense and brings structure when rallies get chaotic. [player_tooltip player_id='848325' first='Olivia' last='Garcia'] – Setter Olivia brings a spark that you can't teach. Her biggest weapon today was her hustle-first mindset—she chases down out-of-system balls, opens her hips, and delivers balls with impressive accuracy for her age. She also showed early instincts as a defensive contributor, reading tips early and popping up quality digs to keep rallies alive. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas Heading into club, Olivia is a player who will raise her team's tempo. Expect to see her pushing pace, learning advanced setter footwork patterns, and becoming a reliable catalyst in both transition and defensive coverage. [player_tooltip player_id='912330' first='Kaylen' last='Ngo'] – Setter Kaylen stood out as a detail-oriented technician. Her hand positioning is clean, and her release stays consistent, giving hitters a strong window to work with. She showcased an emerging ability to manipulate the block by setting behind her or shifting tempo subtly. Her composure today was impressive—she never rushes, never panics, and already carries herself like a floor general. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas This club season, watch her expand her toolbox with more setter IQ—mixing in second-ball options, improving her serve-receive leadership, and becoming a calming presence her team can rely on. Kennadi Barbour – Setter Kennadi plays with energy and boldness. She isn't afraid to take chances, and today that showed in her willingness to push the ball to the pins, even from tough angles. She's quick off the ground, light on her feet, and showed early signs of being a setter who will eventually run tempo offense with speed. Defensively, she reads the hitter early and reacts with confidence. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas This club season, expect Kennadi to grow into a setter who controls the momentum of a match—adding stronger connection timing with hitters and refining her placement as she gains more reps and game experience. [player_tooltip player_id='894393' first='Liliana' last='Evans'] – Setter Liliana brought a steady, consistent presence throughout the session. She excels at cleaning up plays, keeping the offense alive with smart set choices and a reliable platform when forced to take first contact. Her hands are soft, and she does a great job getting her body behind the ball, which led to some of the most accurate reps of the showcase. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas For club, Liliana is a setter who will thrive as she builds chemistry with her hitters. Expect her to make strides in tempo, out-of-system creativity, and becoming a dependable voice in serve-receive organization. <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Thank you to all my readers for making this journey possible.
