2026 Club Team Preview: Iowa Impact 17-1 Elite

The goal is highlighting as many teams as possible before we get the season underway next month. It joined up with LOVB, increasing its resources and passing them along to members of its family. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The organization's top 17U team will be formidable with much of last year's 16s back and better than ever. The squad also added talent it will be blending with the strong returning group. Potential early-season growing pains should yield to consistency as the season advances.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team is strong at outside hitter. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='443086' first='Brynn' last='Cibula'] is one of the Iowa's most consistently good six-rotation outside hitters. Her 215 kills for Valley were the most by a non-senior and helped the Tigers advance to the 5A state semifinals. Her 293 digs ranked second on the team, and she added 35.0 blocks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ballard's [player_tooltip player_id='490006' first='Harley' last='Askelsen'] is another versatile pin. She cranked out 124 kills (.209) with 156 digs and 47.0 blocks. [player_tooltip player_id='493608' first='Bailey' last='Snyder'] served as an important depth piece for an Ankeny Centennial outfit that reached the Class 5A state championship match for the first time in school history. The junior produced 59 kills in 57 sets with 20 digs and 11.0 blocks.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Impact 17-1 Elite boasts a pair of very capable setters. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='730385' first='Allison' last='Ricke'] dished out 745 assists in 96 sets for Johnston in 2025. The junior added 187 digs, 32 kills and 17.0 blocks. [player_tooltip player_id='493603' first='Miley' last='Geise'] came up with 871 assists with 141 kills, 204 digs and 30.0 blocks in 105 sets for a Roland-Story program that reached the Class 3A regional finals, where it lost to eventual state finalist Humboldt. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Middle hitter and opposite pin should be in good hands with a trio of talented performers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Winterset's [player_tooltip player_id='745362' first='Dottie' last='Reed'] was one of the state's most improved players in 2025. As a junior this fall, she rolled up 211 kills (.204) in 79 sets. She added 147 digs and 19.0 blocks. [player_tooltip player_id='493605' first='Kenlie' last='Erickson'] (Centennial) and Audrey Trettin (Waukee) showed promise during their varsity time this fall and could be ready for another step forward during the upcoming club campaign.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Look for Impact 17-1 Elite to generate plenty of good passes and defend the back row well with the duo of [player_tooltip player_id='758787' first='Katelyn' last='Mescher'] and [player_tooltip player_id='808135' first='Ellie' last='Pollock']. The latter was a do-it-all performer for Centennial during its historic season, producing 178 kills, 245 digs and 37.0 blocks. Mescher was an important role player for a strong Ankeny back row.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
