Austin’s “All-Midwest” Exposure Tour Team from NE, IA, and MO/KS

My first stop was in my Nebraska homeland, but I quickly branched out around the Plains to cover showcases in Iowa and Kansas. Throughout the journey, we discovered incredible talent and peered into the future stars of the heartland's club scene. What a way to launch the upcoming club season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Post-event coverage from each event included my "all-showcase" selections, featuring the best of the best from all three locations. Now that the dust has settled on the Exposure Tour, I wanted to drum up an elite cast of "all-Midwest" performers who were especially exemplary among their peers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is an elite group. We were well-acquainted with Fowlkes' multi-position prowess through her outstanding work with Premier Nebraska 15 Gold. That campaign ended in some GJNC hardware, and the Gross Catholic sophomore has only improved since then. Middle blocker? Pin hitter? The Mustangs made a long-awaited tournament breakthrough this fall, and Phillips was a constant catalyst to that effort. She slugs the ball with incredible heat on the right side and is physical enough to anchor the middle. It's a theme we've harped on a lot over the past few weeks, and Schluckebier embodied this ever-present truth at our Iowa Exposure Tour. She gets her feet to the ball no matter what pass she's given. Then, Schluckebier delivers smooth sets to her pins and forces the middle with finesse. Athletes from Iowa City had a tough, snow-covered trek to our Des Moines outing, but Schluckebier made the most of her trek. The ball sounded different off her hand, whether it was on an in-system rip or a scramble play from off the net. Her aggressive swings scored in any situation imaginable, which can be a game-wrecker when showcases move to six-on-six competition. The high-flying sophomore switched things up throughout our Iowa Exposure Tour, scoring in front of the setter or on the right side. Length, physicality, and power are all traits we've come to associate with some of [program_tooltip program_id='431948' first='Iowa' last='Rockets']' best athletes, regardless of position. Peterson looks to be the next in line after her awe-inspiring backcourt saves at our latest Kansas City showcase. She has already made an impact on the Kansas prep scene and brings some veteran savvy you wouldn't expect from a freshman. This Class of 2029 outside hitter lit up our Missouri/Kansas showcase while competing against a host of older peers across the net. Fogel is an effortless flyer who brings a wicked array of shots to the left pin. That intensity never wavers when she enters the backcourt, where Fogel remains a positive contributor in Zone 6. We always get a strong Topeka influence at our Kansas City events, and Anderson was one of the best we've seen in the Dynasty gym. She excelled as a distributor and an attacker, making her a brilliant "utility" player during six-on-six drills.
