Exposure Tour Houston: G's Dynamic Right Side Hitters

The Prep Dig Exposure Tour made it to Houston this past weekend, with over 70 prospects from the 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2029 classes spending a couple of memorable hours with us at Competitive Edge Sports Complex, the home of popular club [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'], in Spring, on Sunday morning.   It was a great opportunity for us, Prep Dig scouts, to get to know up-and-coming players in the region while also tracking the progress of others we were already familiar with. We loved the incredible atmosphere and the level of effort and play that we got to see from everyone, and we are now using the week to give a shoutout to the ones who stood out the most.   These right side hitters were very strong at the net:    Martin is part of Paetow's team in high school volleyball and features for [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] at the club level. A lefty with a solid mix of physical and technical skills, she was one of the most consistently productive offensive players in the event. Martin gets off the floor very well and has enough firepower in her left arm to beat blockers at the net. She has improved her vision over the last couple of years and is now also a threat in out-of-system plays, managing to put the ball down in difficult situations with well-placed shots and by tooling the block. She also does a good job with her blocking, remaining disciplined and balanced at the pin.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2025/12/Prephoustonaction_28.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-914158" /></figure>    Arruda joined us from Louisiana, where she attends University Lab and plays club volleyball for WD Nation. The daughter of legendary middle blocker Danielle Scott-Arruda, she's a lefty with impressive length and superior technical skills and offensive vision. Arruda got to swing from both pins during our event and she was always excellent, making contact with the ball at a very high point and hitting it towards the end line, out of reach for blockers and defenders. She also displayed solid ball control skills in the defense drills and in serve-receive.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2025/12/Prephoustonaction_20.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-914157" /></figure>    Miller plays high school volleyball for Samuel Clemens and is a member of Tri-County Volleyball Association's club volleyball program. She was a stud at net in the showcase, playing multiple positions and doing great things on both sides of the ball. A very athletic player, Miller makes the most of her physical tools, jumping very well and unleashing it every time she went up to swing. She spent part of the event in the middle and used the fact that she's an unorthodox left-handled middle to beat opposing blockers. Miller also stood out with her blocking, playing aggressively at the net and coming out on top in most jousts she got to get involved.     Pickens plays high school volleyball for Paetow and competes for Katy Stars at the club level. She has room for improvement in many areas of her game, but is already able to make an impact at the net. A six-footer, she does a good job of fully stretching her arm before making contact with the ball and using every inch of her long arms to beat blockers - she's also capable of putting some heat into her swings. Pickens can also be a factor with her big blocking, taking up a lot of space from opposing hitters above the net.
