Rising Stars: Class of 2028 at the Kentucky Exposure Tour

Wilder, Kentucky, was a stop that brought out actual competitors, fearless, driven, and ready to rise above the pack. The energy never dipped, and the gym stayed charged from start to finish. This gym could barely contain the action happening inside, but let's try to give a few athletes who were turning heads, who may or may not be known.    Awareness, quick to react, springy, and explosive! She was all over the net, showing great instincts for reading the offense and having a block party of the day, getting her hands on everything coming her way. Has excellent footwork and swings side to side. Getting off the net and explosive on her delivery, every swing punishing the defenders, showing great power.     Observed her during positional drills, where she effortlessly ran the 1 and 2's, getting good lift and showing steady hands consistently. Displayed a very good backset. Quick movement and solid footwork were evident during gameplay, which solidified that she is more than just a workout wonder.     The versatility of Makayla is very impressive; during both drills and games, she was out and in the middle on the net. Footwork, explosiveness, power, technique, or IQ never wavered or faltered. I'm not sure which is her best position, and standing at 6'2 doesn't help. She is light on her feet, moves laterally like a DS, and still comes with the power needed to hit down the line or press for a block.     Very solid, throughout the entire day. Hustled, great attitude, skillful, willed, this is the player you want leading your team. She displays this early in her career, so it will only be enhanced as time goes on. She is active and quick on the floor, constantly communicating her thoughts and ideas. Sees the floor exceptionally well, has timely tips, and still has good tooling ability.     She is a competitor; she fought and yelled at every opportunity. Her explosiveness is to be admired; she is relentless and energetic. Keeps attacking with the ability and control, cross-court or down-line, seemingly not getting tired. Using the same effort in the back, on defense, she commits herself to it, hustling and passing with accuracy.    Tobias, originally from Illinois, is a devoted scout and constant traveler for the game of volleyball. With roots in Kentucky and time spent as a former UK student, he'll always call Lexington home.
