About Makayla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Fast! I try to be aggressive defensively at the net, and use a quick arm swing to deliver powerful attacks

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

First and foremost I want to be a good teammate! I want to celebrate the wins and their individual accomplishments! Other than that, I love the game and enjoy playing good volleyball with my friends. Its still a game!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I think leadership for sure. I've received the team leadership award in 2024 and 2025. And I hope my team sees me as a good teammate- I always try to make it about us, not me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

No nothing significant. Though playing on a really good Varsity team with upperclassmen who are REALLY talented made it hard to get noticed last season.

What type of college are you looking for?

D1 school for sure, probably SEC, Big Ten, ACC or Big East

Roose has recently taken more serves and it is paying off. She sends them to different zones on the court to keep defenders guessing and is more aggressive with them. Roose does a good job pulling up quick when balls are headed out of bounds. She teams up well with teammates on blocks. Roose needs some work on her accuracy with her swings, but they are tough when she gets on top of balls.
