Skyline Season Opener: Next-Level Liberos in the 15 Open Division

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The club volleyball season is officially underway, and last weekend kicked off what will be an exciting seven months of intense, high-level tournaments being held all over the state of Texas.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The opening weekend had some really good ones to follow, and we, at Prep Dig Texas, started our coverage at the Skyline Classic Season Opener, held at the recently renovated facilities of the popular [program_tooltip program_id='510661' first='Houston' last='Skyline'] club in Houston.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li><strong><a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/12/skyline-classic-season-opener-15-open-division-photos/">Skyline Classic Season Opener: 15 Division Photos</a></strong></li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Teams from all over the Houston area were represented in the event, and we focused our coverage on the 15 Open Division, which featured eight sides, coming from six different clubs in the area.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was a great start for what's going to be another amazing season in Texas, and we're happy to feature the players who were in excellent form on Saturday. Her mobility was probably what impressed the most in her game, as she displayed excellent reflexes to move on the backcourt, getting to tips and deflected shots with a solid success rate. Alvarenga also stood out with her ball control, making an effort to control hard-driven swings that went her way. A tall libero, she used her length well to cover ground on the back row and took charge of a large area in serve-receive. Reins displayed excellent ball control every time she made contact with it, passing efficiently and doing well when playing defense. The libero displayed solid ball control in serve-receive and was accurate with her passing for most of the time. Combining impressive quickness, Kon was very active on the back row and got many touches when playing defense. Her day had some ups and downs, but the highs showed a libero who can get the job done on the back row. She performed some nice actions with her passing, moving quickly for the ball and delivering it in good spots for her setter. Manuel also did a good job when she had to bump set in transition, getting the ball to the pin from different locations on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
