16 Ni’iahu: Impressive Libero Performances

The event also showcases a wide range of skill levels and playing styles across the region. It also provides a valuable opportunity for us scouts to evaluate teams and athletes that we do not typically have the chance to see routinely. Snowden is technically strong in all facets. She does a very good job angling her arms early and consistently keeps a strong, stable platform. She reads hitters well and positions herself effectively on defense, allowing her to make controlled, playable digs. She was clearly destined to be a libero as she anticipates well on defense and did a good job running through the ball, which allowed her to maintain balance and deliver accurate passes. She handled out of system situations with poise, stepping in to set with confidence. Defensively, she does a good job covering her attackers and was able to recycle numerous balls for her team giving them second chance opportunities. She is quick, controlled, and efficient which allows her to consistently impact the game. In addition, she also possesses excellent court awareness and defensive discipline. She anticipates the ball well, moves efficiently, and delivers controlled, accurate passes in serve receive. She has an excellent read on the ball and the opposing team and knows how to move quickly to get into position. Her anticipation is outstanding, making it difficult for opponents to get anything past her.
