Mother Nature decided to step in and truncate the largest two-day tournament in the country. In typical Hoosier fashion, perseverance was the main thought headlining the tournament, turning 170+ courts and 1100+ teams at three locations into not quite 130 courts and 700-ish teams all congregating at the Indiana Convention Center on Saturday. There was still great volleyball to be had, and all had winners worth celebrating. Here are the five players available for the next level that won the 18 Club White division, Circle City's 18 White.

With size, strength and a bit of speed, Alexandra is a pin attacker that can defend as well as attack while within the 900 square feet. With sneaky speed and quickness, Miss Brown will hit the floor and go for balls, unlike most of the other 6-footers available at this time. The effort, training and positive attitude are all there for this kid, she just needs an opportunity to show how she compares at the next level.

A solid, all-around setter from Greensburg, Mya runs an offense well and can defend her position at an above-average level. With quick feet and solid, strong hands, her location of sets is highly consistent and reliable—-and for setters available at this point, that's a HUGE plus. In the front row, she has enough size to slow down attackers at a small-school level, and knows how to set a block for her middles to meet her. In short, Mya is a plug-and-play setter for either a 5-1 or 6-2 offense, and can do so at the small school level as soon as she arrives on a campus.

As the libero at Batesville this past fall, Anya is more than capable of anchoring serve receive, and can play any of the back row positions with equal talent and strength. No glaring weaknesses show in her game—-she's just a solid, ball-control-first type of passer that would work well in a 2-libero system early in her career. I'm more sold on her read-and-react defensive posture than her serve receive, but experience, reps at a high level and time will help solve that slight deficiency. Active in her feet and a solid, strong platform got Anya this far; it's up to colleges at the next level to take her even further.

I've been high on this kid for some time, mostly because of her outdoor tournament experience. Used as anything from a three-rotation defender to a full-time libero, Avery's ability to produce solid footwork and strong legs to drive to the ball on each and every contact make her indispensable in the class of ‘27. I'm more interested in her ability to play outdoor ball, as she's earned multiple podiums over the last couple of years in various sand tournaments around the country. She's also not afraid of the weight room—-yet another aspect of her game that colleges won't have to worry about teaching Miss Bastien.

Small, mighty and explosive, Alexis comes from a solid high school program in Northview and has all of the tools and the talent to be a six-rotation outside for a smaller college in the fall of ‘27. With all of the shot selections she can hit from either pin regularly, and her ability to pass her way out of problems in both serve receive and defense, Alexis is a nice “control outside” to have when you need consistency and reliability in your attacker.
