High-Flying Attackers We’re Eager to See at Prep Dig Iowa Clash

The mid-February grind has arrived, and teams are finding every venue possible to rack up high-level reps. A major opportunity awaits at this weekend's Prep Dig Iowa Clash in Des Moines.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>And, of course, I'll be there! The Horizon Events Center has hosted several past showcase events, and the Iowa Clash will add another exciting chapter to the growing catalog. This weekend's event will be a competitive venue featuring top-tier teams from the Hawkeye State and beyond. Skills will be sharpened.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm excited to see the medley of teams converging for this one. We have squads with several Prep Dig Circuit standouts, plus some additions from my own Nebraska backyard. Vogt is our top-ranked athlete in Iowa's Class of 2027, and the Iowa State commit looms large on this weekend's entry list. She is the type of floor-denting pin hitter who has all the traits necessary to excel at the D1 level. Last fall's Waukee Northwest team leveraged Vogt's athleticism to the tune of 353 kills on a 0.285 clip. This versatile 2027 prospect brings every skill you could want from a left-side attacker, and Iowa Select's 17U Mendoza squad takes full advantage. Jondle can sky over opposing blockers in the front row, but she also has match-altering potential as a middle-back defender. Last month's Northern Lights Qualifier put Jondle's steady platform on full display and established her as a six-rotation mainstay in the 17U Mendoza lineup. This Elkhorn High School standout has rocketed to prominence in the middle and is one of Nebraska Elite's most imposing blockers. McEnroe represents [program_tooltip program_id='555793' first='RVA' last='Roots'] and will be a key frontcourt force in 17U Boahen's starting rotation. This lengthy middle blocker boasts tremendous burst in front of the setter and has the pin-to-pin quickness needed to anchor any net defense. The club's vaunted 15 Apex lineup is taking on our 17/18s division, allowing Ahlmann and her team to challenge itself against experienced foes. We've been lucky enough to see 15 Apex on the Great Plains Region stage, and Ahlmann has always stood out with her rocket arm in front of the setter. She put up big numbers in her debut prep season, churning out nearly 300 kills on a 0.326 hitting percentage. Manhattan Mayhem expands our geographical reach at this weekend's event and gives us a whole new cast of terminators to watch. Ostmeyer has a quick, explosive approach that has made her a household name in the Salina, Kansas, area. She brings that athleticism to the basketball court, too, making Ostmeyer even more intriguing among her 2027 peers. Hamma brings a wicked lefty swing to Iowa Select 16 Reid's left-side hitter spot, making her team a surefire contender in our event's 16U division. The Davenport West sophomore made major strides last fall while compiling the third-highest kill total on the Falcons' season tab. Hamma has a knack for tooling off high hands and has expanded her arsenal during early-season action.
