One name that many club teams around the Midwest and the country need to be mindful of at 16U is FaR Out 16 Black.

A deep roster of hungry talent has this team playing at a high level and their trajectory seems on a nice upswing heading into the warmer months.

Here's a closer look at this team, coached by Valerie Lurye.

Setting Options

As you see with this whole roster, FaR Out has a lot of flexibility to work with. That applies at setter as three different players can step into the role. [player_tooltip player_id='850734' first='Kyla' last='Kuiper'] is a primary setter from Zeeland East that has a really smooth delivery and is working to keep herself pushing an aggressive pace that can hang with elite teams across the country. [player_tooltip player_id='553582' first='Kalina' last='Fast'] and Macaire Kuday are S/OH combo players that can handle multiple roles. Fast is a breakout talent from Waverly. She's got a lot of intangibles and should take her game to another level this club season. Kuday makes the trip from Traverse City, where she's showing a great balance of play and is able to help out the roster in all phases.

Complete Outsides

Along with Kuday and Fast, FaR Out has a lot of other well-round outsides that can be difference-makers on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id='845288' first='Bryleigh' last='Conner'], Amiya Frias, [player_tooltip player_id='809569' first='Cambree' last='Krause'], and [player_tooltip player_id='834257' first='Kiley' last='Manyen'] are available options. Manyen is a power arm with good defensive instincts, while Frias was a breakout talent from Ionia that is holding her own against many of the best hitters in her class. Krause and Conner come from Forest Hills Central where they were a dynamite 1-2 punch for the Rangers. Each brings their own traits, but they both have big power when they get a clean look.

Towering Middles

FaR Out isn't lacking in size in the middle with the likes of 6'1” [player_tooltip player_id='939678' first='Molly' last='Briggs'], 6'1” [player_tooltip player_id='814463' first='Johanna' last='Duits'], and 6'2” [player_tooltip player_id='939677' first='Lydia' last='Bell']. Krause can also move to the middle when needed. These three primary middles are aggressive and stay very active at the net to be big disruptors of opposing offense. Bell comes from Caledonia, a place that has produced some great middles in recent years. She's showing good timing on her attacks to deliver devastating kills. Duits comes from Lakewood, which also knows how to develop a lengthy middle. She's got a high court IQ and a great feel for the game. Briggs is one of Rockford's promising young talent that is going to be in line for a breakout year next fall.

Defensive Aces

Completing this lineup is the talented defenders FaR Out has on the roster. [player_tooltip player_id='761443' first='Meg' last='Schreur'] and [player_tooltip player_id='834311' first='Kinsley' last='Whitfield'] handle the duties. Whitfield is coming off a great year with Byron Center where she showed she can come through with difficult digs against the best hitters in the state. Schreur also showed she can hang with anyone as she tore things up for South Christian during the fall. She's got great instincts for the ball and keeps top form.

Expectations

This group should be keeping their expectations high based on how they have looked this season. They held their own at Triple Crown and proved they are right on the cusp of being in the national picture. A few other top-10 finishes have got FaR Out playing with plenty of confidence. With this roster depth, they should be able to keep fresh legs and keep playing aggressive. They've got the defensive talent to keep the ball off the ground, and plenty of great hitters to put the ball away.
