The Lone Peak high school pin attacker kept her weight distribution in serve receive positioned forward, staying off her heels and keeping herself light and balanced throughout every contact so she could change direction instantly when a difficult ball came her way. That kind of platform discipline and foot positioning is the detail that separates passers who survive from passers a setter trusts in every rotation. Beyond the serve receive, the explosiveness she generates in transition and the impact she makes across every phase of the game reflects a player who has been built right from the ground up technically. Every college coach in the country needs her name on their board. She is a sophomore and she is already one of the most complete pin hitters I have evaluated this season.

Her craftiness at the net, ball control, and added power bring a composed, consistent control to this year’s lineup. In her most recent game, Chevelle posted 10 kills for the Knights, helping take down the Syracuse Sentinels — the team that knocked them out in the quarterfinals.

So far this season, Chevelle shows a stronger ability to see the block in front of her and swing with conviction. She did a good job getting her feet to the ball, swinging high, finding the edges of blocks, and attacking the seams.

She can swing hard in system while also mixing in intentional, precise off-speed shots to corners, campfire, and sharp angles. Her next point mentality keeps her grounded and focused to make the right play whenever the ball comes her way, whether that’s a pass, dig, or attack from the front or back row.

One area Chevelle is continuing to work on is expanding her range as an attacker, adding more tools to her game. Her coach praises her coachable attitude, receptiveness to feedback, and ability to keep her movements simple and efficient, traits that continue elevate her impact on the floor.
