Five Young Players Catching Attention during Club Season

Minton carrier her momentum to the sides of blockers to find holes in between the blocks on gap shots. Minton has shown great leaping ability to beat blockers in the air. Minton makes nice in-air adjustments to get on top of balls and nicely place them into openings on the court. Minton consistently creates enough space at the net then safely lands on two feet. Minton forms nice double blocks at the net. Minton mixes in soft hits and is a big encouragement to her teammates.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Some eighth graders and freshmen are building momentum before thiis fall. Seider has quick hands and is showing the ability to execute a variety of sets. Seider even pulls off the back set with little to no lean so as not to tip off blockers where the ball is going. Seider puts the right amount of arc on her sets. Seider recently played up in the 16U Division in a recent tournament. Seider makes the most of every set, including ones that are out of system. Miller consistently puts the right touches on balls trying to hit her hitters' power zones. Miller is not afraid to surprise opponents with setter dumps on second touches. Miller can lay out and make pancake digs and has a nice jump serve. Miller does not hesitate to lunge when needed, but keeps balls under control. Cobb anticipates well then goes hard after balls. She does not hesitate to use one arm or dive if needed, but often does it under control to help jumpstart the offensive rhythm. Cobb makes the simple passes, showing she can handle both hard and soft shots. Padgett makes smooth passes then quickly moves into her attack stance. Padgett makes plays from the middle and pins. Padgett can go up and smack balls to the shallow side lines or mix in tough off shots to corners.
