Illinois 2028s - Who is Leading With Length?

Who are the athletes who have some length to their game?  We have some in the recently updated Illinois Class of 2028 Rankings who are able to patrol the net, they have an upside, and there is just something a little different about their game whether it comes to their height or wingspan.  Many of these athletes will be in action this weekend.     [player_tooltip player_id='546205' first='Erin' last='Bruce'] has been a key outside hitter for [program_tooltip program_id='432009' first='Sky' last='High'] 16 Elite. The 2028 prospect will be one to keep tabs on for her recruiting journey that can officially begin June 15. I remember seeing Bruce her 14s year for [program_tooltip program_id='432009' first='Sky' last='High'] when they played at the Prep Dig Gauntlet. She has a high contact point that allows her to hit a variety of angles while also using the block to her advantage. Her pop on her swing continues to increase where her best volleyball is ahead of her where she could really flourish at the next level!     Another [program_tooltip program_id='432009' first='Sky' last='High'] athlete to have on the radar is [player_tooltip player_id='810016' first='Vivian' last='Lang']. She is also part of a really talented group from Libertyville who will be gearing up for a big 2026 high school season. She is someone who plays out of the middle and I could also see her on the right side with her reach and length. Over the past year she has improved with her physicality where she is going to make her presence known with her block and she's not afraid to take a big swing where she can find the deep corners. She has attended some high level college camps and will be gearing up for an exciting recruiting journey.     [player_tooltip player_id='546209' first='Kara' last='Schubert'] has had some major highlights this club season where if she has an opening the defense better guard their grill. She can hit all the angles and with authority. The sweet spot for Schubert is finding the deep zone one corner of the court. She has developed a great connection with setter [player_tooltip player_id='563045' first='Adelaide' last='Bruns']. This team has a bid to Indy and has been playing an open schedule all season, they will be exciting to watch at the Prep Dig Gauntlet to start June.     With [player_tooltip player_id='761532' first='Alyson' last='Cahill'], there is a combination of length, but also great athleticism and speed. The 2028 middle blocker from Mother McAuley is so quick to close the block on the pin and be able to transition and score points. She has also proven she can play some backrow defense as well. Athletes like Cahill are so exciting because they are always evolving and finding new ways to improve their side of the net.     [player_tooltip player_id='962174' first='Shea' last='Kelly'] is a new one on my radar. I saw her play for Wisconsin Juniors 16-1 team at MEQ a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with her swing and how she sets the block. Kelly has a heavy left handed swing from the right side where it packs a punch. It is tough for the other side of the net to cleanly pass the ball. With her block, the opposing outside hitter has to think twice, she is taking up a lot of space with her hands. This Wisconsin Juniors 16-1 squad has some great athletes from both sides of the border.     Blue Steel 16 Black will be playing at Show Me this weekend and I highly suggest taking a look at this team. They will be playing in 16 Open on Court 28 Saturday morning. [player_tooltip player_id='815771' first='Lela' last='Stinson'] is a middle blocker who changes the game. When her side is in system, she is able to run multiple tempos all across the net. She does this with efficiency as well where she isn't afraid to swing hard and find the court. This will be an exciting weekend in Kansas City for Stinson and her Blue Steel team.
