In the world of club volleyball, we spend a lot of time talking about the high-fliers—the pins who can bounce a ball on the ten-foot line and the middles who shut down the net. But if you want to know why a team is consistently winning matches, don't just look at the attackers. Look at the player with the sweet hands and a high-volleyball IQ: the setter.
The setter is the offensive coordinator on the court and must be a leader when a match is on the line.
Halalilo has been on a tear this club season for WVBA 17 Adidas. It's been fun seeing the club at tournaments like the Pacific Northwest Qualifier, Power League, and Regionals- Halalilo is driving the bus as a setter and attacker from the right side. She plays big at 5'9" with strong hands, great timing, and a quick arm. The Archbishop Murphy 2027 shines, dealing the ball from all over the court to her attackers, and her connection in the pipe with her dynamic attackers is fun to watch. A college program will be very happy to bring Halalilo onto the squad.

Wolfe is a very talented all-around player. Playing with Club South at the Evergreen Regionals tournament, she was setting and attacking as a right-side hitter. The 2027 prospect from Pullman High School has a controlled, accurate arm swing and the strength to push the ball pin-to-pin when she is setting. Wolfe plays bigger than her listed 5'7" and has a real will to win every point when she is on the floor.

The lefty from Eastside Catholic has been dropping dimes to her attackers and hammering away with her tough, dropping serve. Delay has soft hands and can effortlessly flick a back set to get her right side in a one-on-one. The 2027 prospect is a gritty competitor who gets the most out of her squad, making the players around her better.

Jelsing is a versatile setter from Wenatchee High School who played for NCWVBC 18 this season. The 2027 prospect is scrappy and athletic. She gets after it on every point and finds her hitters on the pins and in the back row. Jelsing has nice length and a strong frame, and has a hard-to-handle jump float that gives opponents trouble. She will be a huge part of a Wenatchee Panther squad that will be battling for another State Trophy this fall.

PSVA 17 Legacy captured a 17 Liberty Bid at the Northern Lights Qualifier earlier this season, and followed that up with a third-place finish at the PSR Regionals. O'Brien is a steady performer at the setter spot, and she backs up her solid location with terrific defense. Her footwork is on point- O'Brien doesn't waste steps getting in position, and her release is clean. She forms an excellent setting duo with [player_tooltip player_id='501666' first='Olivia' last='Puttler'], PSVBA will look to finish strong at Emerald City and Nationals in Indianapolis.

McGregor has been dishing out "one-ups" to her NPJ Salem 17 National attackers this club season. A 2027 prospect from Valley Catholic, McGregor has helped her team earn the 17 National bid out of the CEVA Region- she will reverse the flow and does an excellent job staying calm and repeatable in her setting motion. Her ability to lead a team and deliver wins has her ranked in the Top 20 of the 2027 class in Oregon.
