We're spending the next few weeks talking about and celebrating the nearly 50 teams that have qualified for GJNCs here in Indiana this summer. For the numerous divisions represented, one can get overwhelmed at the sheer amount of available recruits for each section of Nationals. Here are five players that are available right now in the class of 2027 that have more than enough potential and capability to produce at the next level.

Springy and active, Leighton is an undersized middle that is always available to hit in any situation. More of an M2 at the present moment, her footwork is nearly flawless, and that work put into her footwork easily makes her available to hit regardless of where the pass is located. She might end up being a three-rotation pin attacker at the next level because of her size, but I've seen enough of her work in the middle to convince me that she can hold her own in the biggest (by size) position on the floor.

An adept six rotation outside, Kambria is one of those ball control outsides that seemingly every championship program has. Her ability to be anything from that six-rotation outlet outside to a three-rotation defensive specialist gives variety in her game that is highly marketable and useful for the next level. Her court vision is also solid—-being undersized for her position, she can see openings in the block that can score points for her squad, regardless of the situation.

A big and physical three-rotation pin option, Anna hits a heavy ball and can be ready to hit at a moment's notice. I like the constant and consistent footwork she brings; a lot of bigger and stronger three-rotation options in this class don't play much defense, and Anna does, making her special for this position group. I'd like to see her capabilities on serve receive to see how much that part of her game has developed this spring, but for now, her physicality will carry her far when being recruited this summer.

Tucked away in southwestern Indiana, Marlo is a long and lean middle that uses her uber-long arms and legs to go over blocks when attacking. Her high attack point and constant readiness to attack in transition has her highly marketable for the next level, as you can't teach 6'2”. On the block, she's a consistent problem for opposing attackers; her penetration is tough to go against, and has forced some attackers into errors simply because of her presence in the front row. She really showed her readiness for the next level at Hoosier Regionals a bit ago, and is just now rounding into form for her recruiting journey. In short, Marlo is a diamond in the rough that has size to burn and an unlimited ceiling.

A more natural right side than a middle at current, Caley has size and skill that makes her look every bit the part of “hybrid attacker” for the next level. I think she's more of a right side because of how natural she looks attacking on the right pin, but don't take away her skill set in the middle. Her court vision allows her ample opportunity to score points on controlled shots where the defense left holes. Yet another gem from untapped southwestern Indiana, Caley will be a steal of an athlete for any school looking for a multipositional attacker for the class of 2027.
