NT Regional Standout Setters

A crazy ball reversal to challenge blockers, a quick tempo that catches defense on their heels, a set so pretty it has to be a kill. All of these things were noticed in some high level setters at the 2026 North Texas Regional Championships. She gets to the ball efficiently and consistently shows patience and composure by making the right read before delivering a set. Her high volleyball IQ allows her to control the pace of the offense and keep hitters in rhythm throughout the match. Keely's confidence in her abilities helps her run a fast tempo at the net, creating opportunities for her attackers to be successful and keeping opposing blockers on their heels.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Ja'Mia LaBad is a smooth 6-rotation setter for 360 17 HP who brings a calm and confident presence to the court. She moves with a natural feel for the game, never looking rushed while still being quick and efficient when it is time to make a play. Ja'Mia does an excellent job reading the flow of the match and delivering the sets her hitters need to be successful. The ball comes out of her hands quickly and consistently finds its target, allowing the offense to stay in rhythm and attack with confidence. Her composure, decision-making, and court awareness make her a steady leader and a key piece of her team's success.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lyla Mueller is a dynamic 6-rotation setter for TAV 17 Black who does a phenomenal job commanding the court and leading her team's offense. She plays with a defense-first mentality, willing to make tough plays while trusting her teammates to rally around her and keep the system flowing. Lyla consistently delivers clean, accurate sets across the net, but her connection with her middles is what truly stands out. She creates rhythm and opportunities in transition with her timing and decision-making, making the offense difficult to defend. With her high volleyball IQ, competitive drive, and hunger for victory, Lyla brings a steady and impactful presence every time she steps on the floor.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Riley Wong is a big-energy setter for Madfrog 17N Black whose communication and volleyball IQ set her apart on the court. One of her standout qualities is her ability to constantly listen to and connect with her hitters throughout every rally, making it clear that she understands exactly what her teammates need to be successful. That level of awareness and trust helps keep her team in a consistent offensive rhythm and allows hitters to play confidently. Riley's high IQ, leadership, and communication make it easy for her to move the ball around effectively, keeping defenders guessing and creating opportunities for her offense to thrive.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Barkley Byrd is a dynamic setter for UEPA 17D who does an outstanding job controlling the tempo and rhythm of her team's offense. She runs a fast-paced system that consistently puts her hitters in position to take big swings and score efficiently. Barkley's connection with her hitters is evident through the chemistry and trust displayed on the court, allowing the offense to flow smoothly in every rotation. She delivers a clean, consistent ball and keeps blockers guessing with her ability to reverse the set at any moment. Her court awareness, decision-making, and leadership make her the engine behind her team's offensive success.</p>
