Five Right Sides to Keep an Eye on at Lone Star Regionals

Texas is set to host one of the biggest and most exciting tournaments of the late portion of the club volleyball season this weekend, when the Lone Star Regionals come to Houston.   The tournament, which will reunite nearly 700 teams across 18 divisions between Saturday and Sunday at the George R. Brown Convention Center, in downtown Houston, also serves as a national qualifier, adding more charm and weight to one of the most anticipated tournaments of the year.   Teams from all over the Lone Star State will make the trip to Houston to compete and, with them, will be some of the most talented players in the state. As the tournament approaches, we've been featuring five of them in each position you should keep an eye out for, and we end the series with the right side hitters:    Blaine is part of the Texas Legacy 15 Elite team that will play in the 15 Bid Division. She's a reliable scorer on the right for them, getting off the floor well and picking her shots extremely well. Blaine has solid firepower in her right arm, is very good at finding ways to hit around opposing blockers, and manages to keep her production level high even in big moments. She's also very aggressive with her blocking, going up high at the net and pressing opponents with her long arms.    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://www.instagram.com/p/DWo4Fy6Dhew/ </div></figure>    Parrish is part of the Xcel VB 161 Adidas side that is entered in the 16 Bid Division. She's a key player for them, doubling up as setter and right side hitter and getting involved in a lot of what they do. A six-footer, she uses her length very well offensively, not only making contact with the ball at the highest possible point, but also using it to adjust to sets off the net. She also has solid technical skills and appears well playing defense at the right back position.   <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DVC0oOdAFOc/">Highlights</a>     Milbrandt features for the MoCo Mavs 16 Red team that will be in action in the 16 Division. Very tall and physical, she's a force for them on the right, making a big impact at the net. A lefty, Milbrandt does a good job of making contact with the ball at the highest possible point, and she's excellent with her locations, consistently finding open spots on the opponent's court. She also thrives with her blocking, using her long arms to press opponents, and is very quick to peel off the net and dig sharp-angle swings.      Nelson is part ot the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] 17 Black B team that will compete in the 17 Bid Division this weekend. An extremely athletic player, she's one of their options on the right and brings a strong game at the net to the table. A lefty, she gets off the floor extremely well and has a very quick arm - she can hit quicker sets on the right and is also very good swinging a higher one in the middle. Because of her impressive vertical, Nelson is also a strong blocker who puts pressure on opponents at the pin.   <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DL0hcBYT9QZ/">Highlights</a>     Hamilton will be on the court with SA Juniors 17 Adidas in the 17 Bid Division. A lefty with great size and impressive firepower, she carries a lot of the team's scoring load. Hamilton has a high contact point, is capable of hitting the ball into different angles and is even more lethal when swinging a shorter set on the right that gets opposing middles scrambling.
