Prep Dig continued its partnership with USA Volleyball at the Salt Lake City National Qualifier Showcase, held at the Salt Palace Convention Center on April 30th. This is the second session held in conjunction with the second weekend of the tournament. The event brought together athletes from across the nation looking to compete in front of college coaches while being evaluated by Prep Dig scouts and court coaches. Showcases like this continue to provide a valuable platform for athletes to be seen, tested, and recognized for their individual performance and intangibles. Let's take a closer look at three players who earned Top Performer honors based on what they showed on the court.

Kyndal Fickett, a Class of 2029 libero from Yucaipa High School and Club 909 Volleyball Club, is a back row prospect who plays with a tenacity and competitive presence that stands out immediately in any setting you put her in. At 5'4" she is built for the position and uses every inch of her athletic ability to cover ground that taller defenders cannot get to as quickly, relying on her processing speed and first-step quickness rather than physical size to dominate her area of the court. Her passing mechanics are clean and she reads the flight of the ball early, which allows her to set a strong platform before contact rather than improvising under pressure. She competes with the kind of relentless energy in the back row that keeps rallies alive and shifts momentum in ways that a stat sheet alone cannot fully capture. Kyndal is a 2029 libero from the Inland Empire who is worth tracking closely from this point forward. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.

Taya Lial plays at San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno and Fresno Heat Volleyball Club. The class of 2029 middle blocker is a prospect whose development arc is worth monitoring closely given what she is already showing at this early stage of her high school career. Miss Lial has a frame that will continue to grow into as she matures physically, and the lateral movement and blocking instincts she already displays suggest a player who has been working on the technical side of the position rather than simply relying on athleticism to get by. Her footwork through the middle of the system is developing in a positive direction and she stays engaged across multiple phases of the rally rather than functioning as a net-only piece, which tells you the overall volleyball understanding is already present. She attacks efficiently when given the opportunity and finishes with purpose rather than just getting the ball over, which is a quality that bodes well for what her offensive game will look like in two more years of development. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.

[player_tooltip player_id='962178' first='Kyleigh' last='Post'], a Class of 2029 setter from Atascocita High School in Humble and [program_tooltip program_id='499169' first='MoCo' last='MAVS'] Volleyball Club, brings something to the position that simply cannot be coached into a player at any level: the natural ability to lead a team through tense moments and make the people around her feel organized and confident when the game gets hard. She communicates constantly and with purpose on the court, functioning as an extension of the coaching staff during live play in a way that most setters do not develop until they have several more years of competition under their belt. Her footwork mechanics and release consistency are both progressing well, and the ability to run tempo and vary the pace of the offense rather than defaulting to predictable patterns tells you a lot about her IQ. What she brings in the cultural and leadership dimension of the setter role is every bit as valuable as the technical skill, because setters who exude composure and command make everyone on the floor around them perform at a higher level. We will be watching her progress closely over the next few years. Please help us congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase event.
