It's a thrilling development that has bolstered the depth of talent we can cover in the spring campaign. That also means more articles like these.

So, the spotlight grows brighter for more of Nebraska's emerging freshmen. It's time for Part 2.

We're leading off with one of the most statistically productive freshmen from Nebraska's 2025 high school season. Ahlmann exploded onto the scene with nearly 300 total kills and a 0.326 hitting clip for Norfolk. The Panthers found every way possible to get their first-year star involved, from slow sets in the middle to up-tempo darts on the outside. This range has propelled Ahlmann back into the fray with Nebraska Elite's top 15s lineup. The dominance has persisted.

How about another can't-miss name on last fall's freshman stat sheet? Svehla was an instant star with Blair last fall, amassing 5.2 digs per set with a Bears crew loaded with quality underclassmen. That experience has translated to a featured role in the River City Jrs 15 Navy backcourt, where Svehla has put her outstanding leadership on display. Her contributions are not limited to the measurable stats or a passing grade. Svehla has a knack for rallying her troops and getting every passer aligned for optimal first touches.

Douglas County West is not far from the Omaha scene, but there's a certain small-town mystique in Valley. That allows us to include Lowndes, one of Club Legacy 15 Alpha's many game-changing frontcourt terminators. Lowndes boasts multi-position experience and can add to 15 Alpha's firepower in the middle or on the right. DC West leveraged its physical freshman frequently last fall, culminating in over a kill per set and one of the Falcons' best hitting percentages. Lowndes added to those accolades with a strong outing at last month's Great Plains Region Bid Tournament.

It should be no surprise that St. Paul High School athletes are a centerpiece of South Central NE's success. Platek adds to the narrative in the Class of 2029 and brings her well-rounded game to the 15 Black lineup. Late-season momentum is rising after Platek and her team secured a GJNC spot through the GPR Bid Tournament. If 15 Black needed a spark in the front row or some passing stability along the end line, Platek was there to deliver. She's a true do-everything athlete who will carry her hot streak into Year 2 with the Wildcats.

Wahoo Neumann is bringing up a transformative defender from its freshman class. We covered Wiese's unbelievable Kansas City stay, lifting Premier Nebraska 15 Silver to Show Me's 15 American Blue championship match. Her uncanny instincts in the libero jersey were a sight to behold, but Show Me was not the start of Wiese's ascent. She set a high bar with Bishop Neumann by racking up nearly 400 digs in her debut season. Starting as a freshman defensive specialist is tough, and Wiese's presence on the end line was unparalleled.

Nebraska Juniors delivers another one. The team's 15 Red roster has made considerable gains in the Great Plains Region race, leading to further opportunities for under-the-radar athletes like Stackpole. This Weeping Water freshman notched a triple-digit kill total with the Indians last fall, laying the foundation for her continued rise on the club side. Stackpole is a sure bet to score in one-on-one matchups and has also generated quality block touches for 15 Red's transition game. We're eager to add even more surging Nebraska Juniors athletes to our next 2029 watch list.

Kearney Catholic knows how to get the most out of its multi-sport athletes. O'Hare has already established a year-round foothold in the Stars' sports scene, and she brings a hammer to the volleyball court with AVC 15 Blue. The Great Plains Region Bid Tournament was a perfect place to see some of AVC's central Nebraska standouts operate against the region's best. O'Hare is a go-to scorer for her squad and is just starting her all-around development.

We have to keep tabs on Nebraska ONE 15 Black's signal-caller. McCarter has been on our must-see list since her club team first appeared at this year's early tournaments. The Adams Central setter guides the 15 Black offense with tremendous precision and pace, allowing her pin hitters to exploit split-block windows at the pins. Nebraska ONE also knows how to train its setters to play exceptional right-back defense, and McCarter has embraced that gritty mindset.
