At 5'8" Madison brings solid physical dimensions to the role and has been absorbing what it means to run a winning offense in an environment that demands production rather than potential. Her ball-handling reflects the technical foundation of someone who has prioritized the craft over shortcuts, and the decision-making she brings to the court gives her hitters the timing confidence they need to be aggressive. She is a 2028 setter worth watching as she continues to build her story of progress. She uses her jump set with purpose as she get the opposing middle to stay with her when she rises in the air. This will help to get her pin attackers to have a split in the block. I really like how she pushes the ball to the right side during out of system plays. The extension in her arms shoots the ball out so fast to her hitters and it makes the offense so fast. We think she has a lot of potential and deserves some looks. [player_tooltip player_id='825649' first='Raylee' last='Lawson'], a Class of 2028 setter and right side from Santa Fe High School and [program_tooltip program_id='745880' first='Houston' last='Stellar'] 16 Elite, is one of the more interesting two-way developmental stories in the Texas 2028 class because the volleyball journey she has been on tells you exactly what kind of athlete and competitor she is. She started as a middle blocker, transitioned to right side, and then committed fully to setting because it is her passion, and in her first two years running a varsity offense she has already earned First Team All-District honors and MVP recognition from her club team. A National Honor Society member competing against some of the toughest programs in the Greater Houston area, she brings the kind of academic and athletic discipline that college coaches look for in a player they are going to invest in for four years. Her footwork and release are developing through those real varsity repetitions and she processes the game with a maturity that comes from having played multiple positions and understanding what each one needs from the setter. Being called out by name in recap coverage alongside your team's offensive production at Wakeland, a program that consistently ranks among the best in Texas, tells you the performance on those nights was real and not incidental. At 5'4" she plays with a quickness to the ball and a decisiveness in her setting that does not wait for the perfect pass before making something happen, which is exactly the quality you want from a setter who has to manage an offense through a long and competitive season.
