2027 Rankings: Who's New to the Rankings

Every time we do a rankings update, it gives us a chance to take a good look at players who are really starting to stand out. In this group, some have made big strides in the growth and development of their game, while others may have just flown under the radar despite consistently competing at a high level. Either way, all of them have earned their spots into the rankings. Below are a few new names that we were excited to add to the Minnesota 2027 rankings. She transitions quickly from defense to offense, and does a great job moving in tandem with her setter. Her fast arm swing and impressive vertical allow her to attack at a high point and be a threat on every set. Recently committed to University of Minnesota Duluth, she brings a great mix of speed, strength, and athleticism that will make her tough to defend and a valuable asset to the team.     Schulz is the the kind of player who can do a little bit of everything. Offensively, she's comfortable attacking from either pin, can run routes through the middle, and is a strong backrow threat with the bic. However, what stands out most is her versatility. She can score in a variety of ways and adapts well to different offensive systems. She's also dependable in serve receive and defense, which makes her a solid six rotation player. Her all around game and consistent contributions on both sides of the ball make her a valuable asset to her SMV team.     As a back to back state champion in 2024 and 2025, Vetter has competed at a high level and consistently delivered in big moments. She's a true six rotation outside who contributes in every aspect of the game. Whether she's terminating from the pins, handling serve receive, or applying pressure from the service line, she's a player her team can lean on and count on to come through in big moments. Vetter works hard, leads by example, and knows how to win.     Beckering has spent the last few years competing for Class 2AA powerhouse Southwest Christian and club Northern Lights, two programs known for developing high level players and competing against top competition. Looking back, it's probably an oversight on our part that she hasn't appeared in the rankings sooner.   Recently committed to Stephen F. Austin, Beckering is a six rotation outside who brings a great combo of size, athleticism, and skill to the court. She has proven herself against some of the best competition and consistently finds ways to make a huge impact. Whether she's terminating balls, handling serve receive, or playing defense, she brings a steady presence to court and competes at a high level each and every time.     When I saw Ferraro play for the first time this spring, I realized quickly that she is a really offensive minded attacker who loves to be involved and is always asking for the ball. Her solid vertical and quick arm swing make her a threat at the net, but what really stands out is her ability to see the court. She does a great job recognizing where the open space is and knows when to tip, push the ball to the corner, or take a big swing. While she excels in the middle, she is also comfortable (and effective) when taking big swings on the right side. She plays with confidence, competes hard, and is always aggressive.
