We are just a few days away from June 15th, and scouts at PrepDig are working hard behind the scenes to get as many articles out to coaches and fans.

The first thing about these girls is their height. Yes, every one of these players is 6 ft tall, and in truth, that is the first thing people will notice. Once the game gets started, coaches and fans aren't focusing just on height but on the skills they bring to the court.

The Class of 2028 is going to have a busy few days ahead, and this group continues to be one of the strongest yet. With the height these girls have, there are some different expectations. Opponents expect them to dominate the net. Coaches expect them to influence both sides of the ball. Teammates look to them in big moments. But the athletes who truly separate themselves understand that height is only part of the story.

The best players use their length with purpose. They close blocks from pin to pin, press over the net to take away angles, and create block touches that extend rallies. They transition efficiently off the net, stay available as offensive options, and learn how to score in more ways than simply swinging hard. They understand when to attack seams, when to use shot placement, and how to make adjustments when defenses begin to key in on them.

What has impressed me most about this Class of 2028 group is that they aren't relying on what people notice first. They're getting in the gym and putting in the work. They're refining their footwork, improving their timing, and learning that the little things matter. Some are becoming middles who close blocks, transition quickly off the net, and establish themselves as reliable offensive options. Others are developing into pin hitters who can terminate, stay composed in serve receive, and continue to impact rallies long after the first swing.

Yes, being 6 feet and above is going to grab people's attention. But what keeps these athletes moving forward is everything else. It's the extra reps after practice, learning how to make adjustments, competing through adversity, and understanding that there is always another part of their game to improve. The ones who continue to separate themselves aren't relying on size alone. They're working to become complete volleyball players.

The height might make you look their way, but the effort, growth, and the way they compete are what keep you watching.
