Day 1 of the Gauntlet is complete at the Sting Center, and it was a wonderful day of volleyball. Some of the top recruits in the country were in the gym, and there were college coaches on nearly every court from the first match to the last. The energy was electric. Here are some leaders and court generals who stood out in the best way on Day 1 of the Gauntlet at the Sting Center.

Taylor had one of the most dominant court presences of the day. This Xavier University commit was confident, aggressive, and bettered her teammates. She elevated the game and was a reliable point earner in the front row. Her energy was unmatched, and she did all of the little things right. On one point, she passed a free ball in the middle, then ran a quick behind the setter, surprising not only the opposing team but also me! Taylor was engaged and communicating on every play and was absolutely relentless.

Sting 17 Gold went 3-0 today, and Emma is a huge reason why. She was a consistent force as a pin who delivered in every aspect of the game. Her serve receive and defense were consistent, clean, and simple while her offense was explosive and dynamic. Emma got a lot of touches on the ball today and delivered time and time again. She led by example and will be fun to watch face off in bracket play tomorrow.

Sage is a 2028 playing up with [program_tooltip program_id='432009' first='Sky' last='High'] 17 Adidas. She played all six rotations as a setter and right side and was electric to watch. Her command of the court was one of the best in the gym today. Sage's high volleyball IQ, high-level communication skills, and overall positive energy all contribute to her being a great leader. She made big plays in smart moments and built up her teammates during their big plays. Sage delivered in her physical play as well, with smart and clean setting distribution when she was in the back row and terminating on offense in the front row.

London is another libero who absolutely dominated today. Her energy alone made her a huge leader for her team. Couple that with her court awareness and efficient communication, and she was tough to stop. London helped take her team's game to the next level. She anticipated plays, was quick in coverage, and covered a lot of space in serve receive. London's attention to detail on the court stood out as well. She is committed to Central Arkansas and is an athlete who is sure to impress at the next level.

Charlee could not have impressed me more today. She showed maturity, grit, and leadership throughout the day. I loved how she pushed the tempo for her hitters even when she was off the net. She was so tough to read that her hitters often had open blocks at the net. Charlee was disciplined on defense, yet released to the net as quickly as possible. She balanced playing each moment of each point while always thinking a few steps ahead. This is a setter to watch and one whose intangibles really set her apart.

Aubrey is playing up a year on Rockwood Thunder 16 Elite, yet she was one of the most vocal and energetic athletes on the court. She is the definition of leading by example, both in communication and physical play. In sets where she only played three rotations, Aubrey was the loudest person on the bench, often jumping and cheering as close to the sideline as possible. When she was on the court, she was just as energetic in supporting her teammates. Her style of play was physical, aggressive, and energetic. She exploded into every play and didn't stop until the point was won.
