Five Girls USAV Junior Club Championships Day Two Notables

It was about making it to the gold round for those still in the running and finding the motivation to finish as high as possible for those that were not. Nance makes a lot of things happen when balls come into her power zones. She attacks seams and holes in double blocks relentlessly. Nance puts up nice double blocks and uses her size to influence things at the net. Nance also provides good backup at the net. She's had to take on more of an all-around role with the 16 Pink Brooke team with the injuries and sickness endured this weekend. Larsen normally plays libero for Owensboro. Larsen also has a good blocking form. Parry takes solid swings from the middle, pins and even the back row, thus separating herself from many young hitters. Parry takes nice swings off blockers for big points. Baumgartner does a good job stepping to balls, but stopping in her tracks to make precise first touches. Baumgartner only lunges out of necessity. Blake is a playmaker all over the court. Blake makes the most of out of system sets trying to make sure the hitters can execute down balls, thus avoiding free balls.
