Five Players that Executed Well on Day Three of USAV Nationals

Mistakes come in this sport, even for the best players. However, a short memory and the ability to come back and execute on the next play goes a long way to a team's success. These five did a great job putting mistakes behind them quickly Saturday in the USA Volleyball Nationals at the Indianapolis Convention Center.    Cabell (pictured) does a lot of little things that add up to big things for 14 REN. She has a motor on the court and outstanding range. Cabell made a pancake dig in the one game Saturday. She provides quality net backup and makes quick adjustments on redirected balls. Cabell covered lines with ease, consistently reading hitters and beating balls to their destinations on the floor. Cabell sends out of system balls toward the net and made great adjustments on set-overs. She makes big digs that sometimes land on the other side of the net for kills. Cabell also sends across hard float serves.     Cabell has played a big role in helping 15 REN find a spot in the 15 National Gold Bracket of the USAV National Tournament. Cabell runs an efficient offense, leaning very little on back sets. Cabell puts up quicks well before blockers can rise up to get hands on them. Cabell has shown she can handle well-struck balls on defense. She consistently gets 15 REN into a good offensive rhythm with quality first touches. Cabell positions herself nicely behind blocks in order to make those good touches. Cabell strives for greatness each time she hits the court and will only get better these next three years.     Carter hustles like crazy on defense. Carter only lunges when needed, keeping balls under control. Carter has shown she can handle well-struck balls. Carter also does a good job encouraging teammates both on and off the court. Her first touches help Metro 15 Elite Black get into a good offensive rhythm.     Haye has natural athleticism and lets it take over on the court. Haye has a great vertical jump, explosion and finish. She tools blocks, taking advantage of setters consistently putting balls in her power zone. Haye hustles hard after balls, not giving up on plays.     Harness has outstanding touch on her sets. She executes both short and long sets with precision. She consistently puts hitters in position to terminate balls. Harness even puts up good back sets without lean. Harness can take out of system balls and set them back toward the net so hitters can execute down balls. Her dedication will pay plenty of dividends in the years to come.
